i hadn't even thought about that. It could take some of the worry out of booking at Mid-O. Maybe Bucky Badger will jump in and clarify for us, but I've had mixed results with NESBA's rain policy. I know there are some tracks (Summit JC, for instance) that NESBA simply WILL NOT ride in the rain. Without having run and event there in the past, I don't know if Mid-O will be one of them. "rain insurance" only applies if NESBA calls the day off, not if you just decide not to ride.

Not at Mid-Ohio... 100 riders sounds like a lot though. "at least 100" especially. more than 35 per group (i'm assuming 3 groups), and things can get really hairy.

You sure about that 'zero liability' claim? Any respectable Inspector (including those my company franchises) will require half a million in E&O insurance. That would be pointless if there were no liability. Besides, inspectors live primarily off referrals from realtors and buyers - they're certainly going to do their best not to miss anything. if you have a FRIEND in construction, that's not terrible advice, but it's a huge conflict of interest for a contractor to walk through and tell you how much shit they would let you pay them to fix - and not all 'warning signs' are structural. A contractor may know if the framing is bad, but have absolutely no experience with mold, "wood destroying insects," etc. home inspectors are trained to evaluate problems, not repair them, not quote you a cost, not suggest a solution, etc. - the EVALUATION is their product, so they remain objective. anyone ASHI or NACHI certified should be able to provide satisfactory credentials.

because somebody wanted a Lambo without the aerodynamics or Italian good-looks? 'melding' two cars together has never sat well with me. If they'd kept the rear section stock(ish), at least you could call it a sleeper car, or a tuner car, or something... All i really see is that they spent a lot of time making the front 3/4 of a Lambo look worse, and probably raised its COG in the process.

are you picturing Mid-Ohio, or somewhere else? I'd go to Mid-Ohio on a weekday (if the price is right), but further than that (Putnam) would make it much less doable.

Abe has been with us for about two months now, and I've probably heard him bark once (while my dog was tackling him in the snow). He's the single most laid-back dog I've ever encountered. The mail man pets Abe while I hold my dog by the collar. the web page says Abe is overweight, but we've actually got him down to a pretty healthy size (i'd bet below 40 lbs). He loves to sleep, and isn't big on fetch or dog toys, but he gets insanely excited about walks. Like any dog, he loves attention, but he doesn't demand it like some dogs do. Abe does fine with cats (at least he didn't try to chase my sister's cat - the cat did chase him though), and obviously gets along with other dogs. - Abe has never chewed anything in our house (not even chew toys) - Abe would not hurt a fly. we haven't had him around small children, but I'd be confident leaving him unattended with kids - Abe is incredibly soft for 5 yr old dog If I have ANY complaints about Abe: - he WILL steal food, if you leave something out and aren't in the same room. - we haven't tested to see how long he'll last in our house w/o needing to pee. The longest we've left him is 6 hours. ABE GETS VERY NERVOUS IF CRATED. - Abe likes to lay on couches and beds. In our house, the guest bed and basement couch are dog-friendly. Our bed, and the family room couch our off-limits. Abe knows this, and respects the rules when we're around. If we're not, he sometimes sneaks onto the family room couch (usually only if the guest-room door is closed though) PM me or contact the Mutt Hutt if you want further info.

$6k sounds a little steep for a car with that many miles... if they trade it in, they're looking at $2.5k I would say a private party sale should be $4k-$4.5k...

GET A HOME INSPECTION. it's usually around $300, but the knowledge is worth way more than that. The home inspector gets info that you (as a buyer) would sound crazy for wanting to check yourself, and the inspector has insurance that makes the seller feel better. Asking price on my house was $125k when we looked at it. We paid $105, due in large part to things the inspector pointed out. lack of insulation here and there, the fact that the roof was missing shingles in a couple places, and had 2 layers of shingles (more expensive to tear-off when we replace it), an older main circuit breaker, the fact that the garage door wasn't mounted right, etc. Not only did it drive down the price, but we knew exactly what we needed to fix in short order, and what could wait. The roof is still fine almost 2 years after our inspection, but it's something we check on regularly because of what we know.

I have a pretty sensitive stomach, and unless I get the "hot" salsa at Chipotle, it has very little effect on me. It's just chicken, rice, a few black beans, tomato, and sour cream... Black beans don't cause that much gas.

I have to believe a motard or big dirt bike would be faster than sportbikes on ice. It's cool that they did it, but kind of silly at the same time. Plus I don't want to be anywhere near those tires when the bike goes down...

Probably not an issue on a performance car like the G35, but most cars are capable of towing plenty - it's STOPPING it that they struggle with. I was looking at small SUV's, and most could pull 1500 lbs with the base 4 cylinder, and more like 2000-2500 with the turbo or V6 ...but only if the trailer had its own brakes. Otherwise 1500 lbs was still the max towing capacity.

a friend of mine works for Allside. I don't knwo if they just manufacture, or if they install as well. They'll do windows, siding, sliding doors, etc...

Where are you located? I moved, so the shop that I used to go to is totally out of my way now. the only place close to me is a major rip-off. Strongsville isn't "close," but it's worth the drive. I flip or replace rear tires every couple months in the summer.

p.p.s. - Sara and I just got a 'new' suv today. my truck was set up to move 1 bike. the trailer I'm buying will be set up for 2. no excuses on that trackday...

last year it was the redbull trailer and a trials rider. THAT was some cool shit. the year before, it was maybe 3 guys with some ramps and a 'cage of death.' I guess normally it was 5 guys in the cage, but two of them were injured.

reckless driving, failure to control a motor vehicle, and who knows what else... the police can ticket cagers for the same offenses, but they usually don't if it's bad weather. That's their discretion. (my mom was almost ticketed for putting our car in a ditch during a snow storm. While on site, the responding officer received word that his wife had wrecked in the same storm. He was more sympathetic after that.) In this case, the cops seem to be taking the "he was asking for it" approach. To be fair, if the guy set out on a motorcycle in bad weather, wrecking it is a rather foreseeable consequence. If he left in clear weather, and got caught in the snow, that's a different story.
