  1. I'm not saying they don't, but they are not supposed to, and if they do so and subsequently find evidence of a crime, that evidence should be suppressed.
  2. Especially when Honda has clearly shown dominance on the world stage in MotoGP. Still, there are other metaphoric daggers that aren't financial. I would be interested to see the financials for Kawasaki Heavy Industries. My guess is that motorcycles are a much smaller revenue stream than excavators and other large mechanical equipment. The only plus side to a motorcycle is that the owner is much more likely to destroy it and replace it quickly than a piece of heavy machinery.
  3. yeah, especially after seeing her in person, she is plenty small enough for a 250, but that 500 is a good deal, and would last her a lot longer. Forever if she wanted... Maybe lower it an inch while she gets used to the weight, then raise it back to stock height after a year. Longer dogbones can be had for $40 from "FOG" on ex-500.com. I had a shorter set from him (raised the rear 1.5 inches) that really improved the turn-in on that bike. He'll make them any length you want though, and if you explain it's just a learning mechanism, he won't give you a hard time about lowering the bike
  4. Only nice if she never wants to work in broadcasting again. Pot can be profitable, but I don't see how her advocacy group will be.
  5. police need probable cause to believe that the law is being violated to initiate a traffic stop. They can't (legally) pull people over just to "warn" them that they're not breaking any laws, but they're being rude.
  6. I'll be straight with everyone - I don't run the rear bead lock. That is probably technically against the rules. I would argue that i'm simply balancing the wheel, but I think it's silly that we're not explicitly allowed to remove it.
  7. I agree on that 500. I paid $1450 for my '97 with higher miles than that one. (In 2005)
  8. Todd, are you running the bead lock on the rear wheel? That is one of the rules changes I'm planning to propose.
  9. An a-hole in an Acura MDX refused to yield when his lane ended on 270 yesterday. JB and I were traveling together. In his F150. I don't think it's people hating on bikes, people are just oblivious and/or assholes.
  10. I think Larry is looking to get about $900 for his bike too. It also has stiffer springs. Either bike is a good deal with the setup they have.
  11. Sara would kill me for posting this, but she called me from her MSF course crying. She just wasn't getting along with the rebel 250. They moved her to a TW200, and she did great. Came home and rode my 500 just fine.
  12. Katie seemed to do great on the 100 yesterday. Weight is certainly not a factor there though.
  13. From that link, it sounds like their "outdoor media" (billboards) are still managed by "ClearChannel."
  14. "Streaming radio" is an oxymoron. Radio is broadcast via radio waves. Streaming audio over your computer is not radio. You may be hearing the same content that is also being broadcast, but it's not the same mechanism. Thus the name change to iHeart Media.
  15. and? "Radio Shack" is feeling the effects of tying their brand to a particular piece of technology. I don't know that "iHeart Media" is particularly catchy, but it keeps them ahead of the technology curve for whatever replaces radio. Really, "iHeart Radio" was never radio to begin with anyway. The whole premise was online streaming to replace a radio broadcast.
  16. That article concludes that the source of the leak is faulty. I would agree that it's "unverified." That doesn't make it false though. His detective work is respectable, but his conclusions invalidating the information are no more accurate than a conclusion that it's valid. 11 more days, and we'll all know for sure.
  17. how late do the shows run tomorrow? I may talk the wife into stopping after OMRL round 8.
  18. not sure you can really blame ClearChannel for the demise of a station. If people are listening, advertisers buy time. If advertisers buy airtime, the station makes money. If the station makes money, ClearChannel isn't going to change the format for no reason... Without a lot of knowledge of the Columbus radio market, it's hard for me to speculate that the genre was oversaturated, but it's usually that, or poor sales/management.
  19. WERA Pro for 2015 has an "unlimited" class, but I hardly think that was considered when this idea was conceived. I agree though, they're going to be winning a contest no one else is competing in.
  20. did your commute change? I feel like you just bought this to avoid racking up miles on your truck.
  21. the way my XR is geared for CRP, I am guessing it can only hit 45mph or so And it would be highly unlikely that a new rider could come close to that speed without some serious balls. The track just isn't large enough to allow rev-limiter runs in 5th gear unless you're comfortable going through turn 1 wide-open. I mean, depending on the direction we're running the track, it would be easier one way than the other, but still pretty unlikely. All that said, my worst crash injury (knock on wood) was a slow 3rd gear fall in the parking lot behind JB's shop... I've crashed the XR at 50mph in turn 1 at PIRC, and the 600RR exiting turn 2 at PIRC doing somewhere between 80 and 100 and walked away in better shape.
  22. if that link is correct, the H2 engine is not derived from the current Z1000/Ninja 1000 engine. Big "if" though.
  23. now that I post that (theoretical) horsepower figure, it occurs to me that we're approaching MotoGP levels of horsepower while maintaining tens of thousands of miles of longevity. That is pretty impressive. Especially if they can keep the weight to a level that makes this bike enjoyable to ride on a track. I still don't see the practical application or market for this bike, but "bragging rights" are something, I guess.
  24. Supposedly a Kawasaki engineer has leaked the specs: 1043cc centrifugal supercharged inline 4 cylinder. 220+ hp stock. With an exhaust and some tuning, figure it can put 240 to the wheel, with a big fat torque curve. Still, with the current race classes, it seems to be a drag race engine in a road race frame... http://www.ninjah2.org/forum/engine/1289-kawasaki-ninja-h2-insider-confirmation-engine.html
