Ah the civic convertible. Not my cup of tea, but I admire the engineering. I have a problem with any bike that utilizes a reverse gear though ;-) At least without a side-car.

Propane heater in a tent (make sure the oxygen switch works!) makes things quite tolerable.

You're going to need showroom space to make that look right. In my garage, my bikes are either nose to the wall, or tail to the wall - and you have to pull the bike forward into that stand, so like I said, you either need showroom space or the logo will be facing the wall. Otherwise, go for it. But I agree it would be cheap/easy to fabricate the piece and then install a vinyl decal.

Do the boots fit true to size?

I actually admire people with the guys to call off a wedding. It's a lot easier to just get married to save face. One of my friends was married a whole 11 months before his wife split. He got lucky, and their dissolution of marriage went relatively smoothly. Still destroyed his savings, but not as badly as a divorce would have...

Just use string to extend the wheel and accentuate whatever angle it's making relative to the chain. Also keep in mind that it's possible, although unlikely, that a loose motor mount would allow the whole engine to be cocked to the side enough that the chain would be a poor alignment guide. But regardless, extending strings 8' behind the bike should show how far off the axle marks are.

How much is a day pass with bike rental?

I have an EX500 shock that is frozen in place and an old chain that you could possibly weld into a solid section. I think I have an older sprocket somewhere too. I'll put together a little box of stuff. Shipping will likely cost a lot though, so we'll have to coordinate a ride of some sort.

Tell him to stick with electric. Purchasing a double-bass is stupid expensive. My uncle plays double-bass professionally. He's on the faculty in BGSU's jazz department.

I watched "doomsday preppers" the other night, and the first family they feature has a castle-style compound made of shipping containers. They were pretty extreme, but I have to admit they were legitimately prepared (rather than just fanatical). The only criticism from the 'experts' was that their 8-year food supply was all in one location, meaning they're completely without food if that structure should be taken by hostiles.

looks cool. probably handles great (for a cruiser). My guess is that people will love or hate this bike based on how it sounds. There will be nothing else to complain about.

While I agree with you, Todd made the same point about 3 pages ago. I hate telling Todd he's right, but a doctor from the Cleveland clinic was on the radio this afternoon basically saying the same thing he posted.

As an aside, Taylor Hawkins is a beast on the drums. He hits the skins so damn hard, you can hear how low the mics are to compensate for it.

my boss is 53. He and his 34 yr old bride (well-played...) had a small ceremony for immediate family, then went to Hawaii for 2 weeks, came back, and threw a huge party (casual) in a private room at a local bar. I'm sure that party cost them $2500 or so, but that's waaaaaaaay less than a reception, and it was still an open bar with good food. Wasn't a sit-down meal, but it was totally fun.

Dave Grohl was a guitar player and singer before he ever joined Nirvana, and he did all the backing vocals for Nirvana. Nirvana had two drummers before Dave Grohl. Chad Channing, and a second guy who quit in the middle of recording "Bleach." His name's on the album for certain songs. But regardless, Dave Grohl is a guitar player who picked up drums, not the other way around. The original Foo Fighters album is awesome when you consider that it's 100% Dave Grohl in a studio, dubbing the tracks over each other without a backup band.

I'm not trying to bag on anyone who wants to get married in the church, but I would urge anyone to question the hoops they make you jump through to do so. My wife and I didn't have a church wedding because neither of us were willing to lie our way through their stupid classes. I told my mother (who badly wanted me to have a Catholic wedding ceremony) that I'd happily sit down with a priest and explain why we wanted to get married, how we currently lived, etc. - but I was going to be completely honest with him about living together, having premarital sex, not believing in church "miracles," etc. If the church was still willing to perform the ceremony knowing that neither of us felt it was religiously significant, we would have done it for our parents' sake. To the best of my knowledge, more and more Americans are abandoning churches. That's not to say that they don't still refer to themselves as Catholic, Protestant, Lutheran, etc., but fewer people are "walking the walk" than ever before. It seems extremely counterintuitive to me (although mildly admirable) that they're sticking to their guns and shrinking, rather than loosening the requirements and maintaining, or even growing. I think the churches that host mass in the movie theaters and encourage people to show up in t-shirts have the right idea: The point of religion is to live a life that whatever god you believe in would be pleased with. All the preaching and singing is less important than the lesson.

I clicked this thread because I thought the title was "welding stuff." Not joking.
