We'll know Saturday. He's supposed to bring it out here when he looks at the KTM. Said he wanted a test ride. I told him to bring the bike signed title and his bike or the cash and he could ride it. We'll see what happens...
  3. For your guns? Glad I didnt buy that sig from you after all...

Supposedly this bike has a 636 forks and rear shock. Apparently thats a direct swap on the first gen.

Sounds like it would be a lot like my 2001 FZ1 that I had. I could ride that bike two up through the twisties all day, slab it back home and not be beat. Couldn't do that on any of the GSX-Rs or Duc's I've had. In the factory trim, I never really liked the bike. Without the goofy exhaust, it looks decent. If you figure out who it is, hit me up.

  14. Glad you're interested, but I wouldn't take either of those bikes even as a partial trade. Not hatin, just not my thing. Sorry.

Good information. I'm sure I could find a really decent FZ-1 for what I want to get out of the KTM, but that would require me selling it first. This is interesting only because the guy is talking trade.

I'm reasonably sure I can handle it The B-King would be cool, no doubt. My first choice would probably be another FZ-1 though.

If I was gonna go out and buy a new bike, this probably wouldnt be it. I like standards but I'd rather have another FZ-1 or even a B-King. A guy offered to trade a 2003 Z1000 for my KTM, and I'm curious about some of the mods he's done and the reasoning behind them (mainly the 636 suspension swap). It sounds like people do it to get the adjustability not found on the stock stuff.

Thanks. I'll see where this goes.

So...what adjustments do you have on your front end?

    Looking at a 2003, that's 1st generation, isnt it?

I was curious about that. The guy that has this bike has made that swap, and honestly it didn't make much sense to me. Standards are a different breed. If your buddy is used to riding sportbikes on the street, I'm not surprised that he wouldn't like it. It took me while to get used to the FZ-1 when I first got it. It was still the best all-around bike I've ever owned. What are the adjustments on the front forks like? Compression, rebound and preload? What about the rear shock? I'll check our riderforums and see whats on there.

A guy wants to trade an 03 for my KTM. I've always been fan of the standards (I'm an old guy), but I don't know a lot about the Kawi's. I had an FZ-1 that was a great bike, so I'm guessing I'd like this one. Any idea what the "typical" mods are for this bike?

I like that SS swing arm. Jagr, what do you think of yours, and what have you done to it?
