There are plenty of places you can make that kind of money. Maybe not in your chosen field, but people make it all the time. If you're taking home $32.50 per hour (I'm gonna guess here that is most likely your gross hourly wage), I can guarantee the contractor is paying WAY more than $70.00/hr for your burdened wage. I'm guessing you Don't forget to add in his payroll tax and everything else that comes with paying an employee. Its probably costing him in the neighborhood of $90.00/hr. Yeah, not a bad deal. Actually, I've been in two unions - UAW, and IAM back in the 80's. Neither of them did anything for me that I couldn't have done myself. Ok, that wasn't entirely accurate....They forced me to join (couldn't have the job without it) AND they took $30.00 a month from me for YEARS, and both companies moved south anyway (GA and AL) to non union shops. Unions? Worthless. They're nothing more than big business. By the way, WHY does the UAW own a golf resort in Michigan?

It's going to take more than hope for things to get better. Unemployment continues to increase (first time applicants), and they're talking AGAIN about extending unemployment benefits. They bailed out BIG banks, who bought smaller banks instead of putting money in the hands of people that could have used it to put people to work. Tight credit = no major purchases for a lot of people. Taxes are going up for EVERYONE (yeah, even those of us that make less than $250,000 per year) which means even LESS money going into the economy. The deficit is WAY larger than its ever been, and if "health care reform" passes, its only going to get worse. Yeah...lets "hope" things get better....jesus.

Duh....its because they're in a UNION. They don't get paid based on what they do, they get paid based on a contract. There's no real incentive for them to succeed. They get paid a walking ton of money just to show up. Pay them based on winning, how many yards they gained, how many tackles they got, etc., and I bet you'd see a whole different game out on the field. Its not the coach's fault, its not the owner's fault. These guys are "degreed professionals" that have, for the most part, several years of experience in their chosen field. They should know by now what they need to do, and just do it. If they're not capable (and it would seem that most players on the Cleveland team aren't capable) they should quit and find another line of work. They won't though, because people keep filling up the stadium so the owners can keep paying these guys millions of dollars to go out and play a GAME. Stupid.

The term "assassination" is typically reserved for political figures. Evers wasn't a political figure (although his cause became political). (emphasis added) So, was Dimebag Darryl murdered, or assassinated? Tupac? Phil Hartman? Sorry, while they were famous people and certainly their deaths were tragic, none of them were assassinated. While Evers' cause was admirable, he was murdered, not assassinated. Is the reason you ignore me because you can't answer the question I asked? Although he was a civil rights "activist", I'd hardly call Medgar Evers a "leader" in the black community. Had he not tried to enroll in the University of MS Law school no one would have ever heard of him. Certainly its a shame that he was killed but it really wasn't an "assassination". Try again.
