$300 is a little steep for a custom map, but not too bad. Really though, the map you downloaded didn't replace a "custom" map for your bike. It replaced a custom map for someone else's bike. That alone should show you that every bike is different and a custom map is the only way to go with a PC.
-
That begs the question - Who did the "custom" map, and did you make any changes after it was done?
-
Funniest thing I've read all week in that link....
-
I was gonna give you some rep for the post before this one ^, but you ruined it
-
Ummm....its all taken care of. Another one that doesn't want to read the posts, but HAS to get his/her two cents in. Fuck me.
-
They wont get what they deserve. Believe that. Honestly, I'm surprised it made it on the Communist News Network this morning. Must have been a slow day.... On a lighter note, Chicago is anxiously awaiting the Obamalympics: http://bit.ly/r5ppG
-
Nahhh...I'd do a F450, but that's about as big as I'd go. I wouldn't wanna drive a Semi EVERY day....
-
I saw the video while I was waiting in line at the BMV this morning. I'm still waiting for Jesse Jackson and/or Al Sharpton to call for more money for "midnight basketball" to stem the tide of gang activity in Chicago. Dont worry, they'll get it all fixed before the obamalympics come to town
-
If I need anything bigger, I'm gonna need a bigger truck
-
Imagine how good it would be if you had a map made for YOUR bike. 10% better. Period.

Holy Shit - $85.00 for my plate for 13 months!

Depending on where you live, you could get to a Casino in an hour and a half. Really, thats not much of drive. How many times a year do you go now? Overall, what issues does having 4 or 5 casinos in ohio solve?
-
It would be easier if they just told the truth, wouldnt it? Just curious, what do you think are the "positives" in this? The fact that $1.0 billion stays in Ohio? Any other upside to having a casino here?
-
Better yet, look at the "neighborhoods" around existing casinos. NICE places, let me tell you. Vegas is an anomaly (unless you go downtown). Oh yeah one more thing the smoking ban already killed any chance an ohio casino could have I dunno about that statement. Business at the Canadian Casinos (Windsor & Niagara Falls) was off about 10% when the ban first went into effect (that's only anecdotal evidence from the Pit Bosses) When AC banned smoking in the joints business dropped dramatically (also information from the pit bosses). Several Casinos have brought it back. Personally, I quit going to Canada for just that reason. Besides, the Seneca joints are just as nice as the ones in Canada, they're closer AND I can smoke.
-
Ummm....are you one of those that just skips to the last post in a thread and adds your bullshit 2 cents to the discussion? Just curious...
-
Not yet, anyway. Give 'em time. They have a good shot at beating Tampa Bay's record 26 straight regular season losses.

Damn, I forgot about that one. There's like 100 there - mostly along the I90-I94 corridor. Crazy.
-
Consider this... If we would have done it 20 years ago when it was first brought up, we'd have been ahead of the curve. We'd have beat virtually every boarder state to the punch. Unfortunately, its been a political football that's been kicked around so long there's no air left in it. Sad really.
-
Exactly. It would keep some money in Cleveland (for example) for a time. The problem though would be that long term you wouldn't end up with a "Las Vegas" style joint for very long. Sooner or later if its not making money it wont be viable and it will close. The problem is that the same thing will be happening in Detroit, Windsor, Erie, etc. When they go down hill, were do we go? Look at it this way - they say $1.0 Billion comes from Ohio into these other casinos. They want to build 5 in the state - that's $200.0 million per joint. That's no where near enough to support a high end casino. Look at Vegas, for example. Ever been to any of the "downtown" casinos? Hardly anyone goes there because they're shit holes. Christ, even the joints at the end of the strip are going down hill because everyone wants to be at the ones closer to the airport because they're "nicer". I doubt that it would impact Vegas all that much. People still go there because its "Vegas", and the same thing holds true for AC. Cleveland, Cinci, Columbus, etc. aren't "destination" cities. The shitty economy in general will have more of an effect on Vegas and AC than a joint in Cleveland ever would.

Its for my business. I buy and sell used machinery for a very specialized industry. I can save a shit load of money if I go and get the stuff I buy that's close to me. I'm picking up a load in Elkhart IN next week, and what I save in freight costs pays for the trailer. Its a pain in the ass, but $$ talks

No, they won't go to the other one. That's the problem. Let me try this again. I live in Akron. I can get to Presque Isle in 90 minutes. Harrah's builds a casino in Cleveland. I can get to Cleveland in 45 minutes. I go to Cleveland instead of Presque Isle. Presque Isle loses my business (and the business of everyone else within an hours drive of cleveland). Presque Isle's business declines, they don't have the money to re-invest in the property or expand it, and it becomes a shit hole. The same holds true for the Cleveland Casino. Since there are already Casinos in Erie, Pittsburg, Detroit, Buffalo, etc. The people from Erie, Pittsburg, Detroit, etc., dont come to the Cleveland Casino because they already have one 30 minutes away. The Cleveland Casino doesnt meet budget, goes through a bunch of operators who also can't get the people from Detroit, Erie, Pittsburg, etc., and eventually it too becomes a shit hole or closes. If you go to a Casino anywhere on the planet (and I've been to them all over the world) you'll notice that most of the people throwing money around are NOT from the local area - they come from out of town. There arent enough gamblers in the Cleveland area to support a joint - just like there aren't enough gamblers in Vegas to support ALL of the joints that are there. Make sense?

Casinos in Ohio should be a dead issue by now. They can build them, but the people wont come. Wanna play slots? Drive an hour and a half from anywhere in the state (in just about any direction) and you can play all the slots you want. Wanna play table games? Drive a couple of hours (2 or 3) and you can play those too. As a state we're WAYYYY behind the curve. PA has them, WV has them IN has them, MI has them. The "locals" (anywhere) don't gamble enough to support the casion(s). To survive a casino needs that out of state traffic, and those built in Ohio probably wont get it. The people that are for it now lobbied for the legislation and got it. Those that are against are people like Jeff Jacobs who own the casinos in neighboring states. They're very aware of the fact that the Ohioans who patronize their places wont be there any more if we get Casinos here. Basically, I see it as a lose-lose proposition. The Casinos that are built here wont be anything to write home about, and the ones that are now within driving distance will decline, all because neither of them will have the traffic they need to grow and improve their facilities. Dont get me wrong - I LOVE gambling. I play the charity poker up in Cleveland several times a year. I get to Vegas at least every other year, AC at least once a year, and I've been to the Seneca Nation's joints 5 times this year (just got back from Seneca Allegeny about an hour ago). It would have been great to get them here 10 years ago, but we missed the boat. We're better off without them.

Ummmm...it has nothing to do with the cost of the plate. The trailer is in BUFFALO. I haven't bought it yet. To get a plate for a trailer in OH you have to have a bill of sale and a weight slip. Since I dont HAVE the trailer, or the BOS, or a weight slip, I can't get a plate. See? BTW, its a 5,500 LB trailer (empty) 14,500 LB GVW. The plates are gonna be a little more than $20.00
