I am probably a 90/10 tires at the moment. They were brand new when I bought the bike and I’m determined to burn them up before I threw some 50/50 on there. You’re in good company. My bike (and me) absolutely sucks in the gravel with these tires, but I’m totally down to ride it in the gravel as long as no one expects me to be fast. and hell yeah Dano, will totally take you up on that. Getting stoked!

Has anyone in our group ever stayed at this Townsend in? Or in Townsend in general? Is anyone bringing wives or special lady friends? Are there things to do in Townsend and will there be people there to do them with? My wife is actually able to go this year and I want to make sure that if she does go she won’t be bored while I’m out playing motorcycles all day. If not I may have to bring her back down because she stuck in that vacation = beach mode. She needs to see the majesty of the mountains. And before it’s mentioned, she’s not real interested in riding around on the back of my bike all day.

Mine has Road tire so I’ve just been ripping up the back roads mostly. Lightweight tossible and plenty of power for back roads with a little tweaking.

Damn! Can’t believe I abandoned this thread. Got it back together after installing and removing the head about 50 times and she fired right up. Ran it around for a bit and realized it was a blast but I wanted more power and roadworthy-ness, so I bought a DR650 in wv for cheap that had been sitting most of its life. Brought it back from the dead and got a killer deal on a XR650L so I sold the DR to Blake and we’ve been having a blast tearing up the local backwater roads south of Lancaster. Lots of upgrades coming.

Fuck cars. Get one of these and go rip up the backroads and trails.
