Mine was pretty rough also. 900 miles in the last eight years. Been sitting too much. Stripped it and soaked it overnight in Pine-Sol and it's good as new. hopefully putting it back together tonight and with fatter jets and adjustable needle from the dynojet kit. I neednone one of those extended mix screws.

Who did you send it to? What was wrong with it? just curious because I'm rebuilding the same carb right now.

That is so badass! Same 1st bike I got when I was 7. Would kill to still have it. I would clean it up and put it on display. I'd figure out a way to hang it on the wall or park it in the corner of the living room, duct taped seat and all!

I'd be tempted to stay there and take the severance. The economy is really good right now at least around here and there are plenty of good jobs available at the moment. Plus, the older I get the less I like working shit tons of overtime. And they can shove their Saturday straight up their ass. That's me time.

Pulled and disassembled the DR650 carb and soaked it overnight in pine-sol. Came out squeaky clean. Waiting on my rebuild and jet kit from @ponyjr

Pulled the carb off of the DR last night and opened it up to find everything Stock. Then did a bunch of research in preparation to fatten up the jetting since this thing is obnoxiously lean. Got a buy a bunch of new screws since the previous owner apparently did everything with an impact Probably going to go ahead and do a valve check since it's tore down this far

I'm sure he got a baseline feel for it in 20 miles

It came with two different seats stock and lowered so I think I'm good there. I need to know what thread and pitch the seat bolts are so I can get the proper thread chaser and new bolts. Fleabay want $15/per bolt. Not happening Will eventually be looking for a cheap slip on. what other must have upgrades do I need to look into?

It's a 2003 with 4300 miles. Not really sure what it's going to need yet. It's in pretty good shape overall it's just been sitting too much. The only thing I know for sure it needs is tires and I'm open to suggestions. Probably see more back road duty than dirt but I still want it to be plenty capable on dirt

Opened the new machine up and had a look around. Need to clean up a lot of threads that have been Hamfisted. Battery is a bitch to get to. Installing battery tender cables tomorrow amongst other things. Shes getting new handlebars, tires, tune up n shit.

Sold my 91 XR250L last night and went to WV to pick up this 03 DR650SE today. Got some things to do to it before the season gets going, but it's a pretty nice unit that doesn't appear to have seen much off road. Only 4400 miles! Need tire suggestions cuz these are roached. Rear isn't terrible but it's 13 years old. Front is original and cooked. Hard as nails. I'm stoked and can't wait to ride the wheels off this thing.
