Put my new to me pro-cycle seat (thanks Danimal) on the DR and had the wife sit on it with me. Seems like it's gonna be a much bigger upgrade than expected. Nice and wide on the back, which she likes and narrow up front for standing. A little taller than the Suzuki low seat I had on it so I'm not flat footed anymore but not too bad and will likely be worth it for comfort. Probably need to get some bar risers now. Really digging this thing.

I'm getting ready to go home from work and I haven't heard anything from them yet. I called and left a message with the human resources office this time because their general managers mailbox is full. Told him they had one more day to get in touch with me before I took action. I'm trying to be as calm and cordial as I can about this but I will put them on full blast and probably cost them much more than $20 if they do not respond.

I probably won't be going back to GP. Racing is $20 per race. In the second race my cart died every time I let off the gas and they had to come restart it. They pulled me into the pits and put me into another cart and gave me one more lap. Woo hoo, I got to ride around in circles by myself. They wouldn't refund me for that race. Will be speaking to the manager sometime today. I will post up the result.

The Dynojet kit is actually $60 at the Iron Pony and it is well worth the money spentif for nothing else than the needle alone. Change out the parts follow the directions bada bing youre running like a raped ape. Needle shape and length does make a big difference when you're trying to increase power and uncork the bike. like I said before, read read read. Research the shit out of it and the answers will become apparent as to which way to go. Asking a bunch of guys who have never wrenched on that particular bike is a start but it's definitely not an answer. Another route is to contact XRsonly.com. Talk to Chris and he will tell you exactly what you need to do to uncork that bike. Also, Adventure rider has an entire section devoted to the XR 650. Go search your questions over there as they've all been answered on that forum

Got tars mounted up yesterday thanks @ponyjr and took a nice chilly ride this afternoon when I got home after lubing the cleaned chain. Pretty sure the PO sprayed used motor oil on it.

Rides and handles much better now than with the OE front and full moto rear from 2003.

Got new tars so I cleaned the motor oil off the chain and sprocket and swingarm etc and mounted the wheels back up last night. Kerosene is a damn fine solvent and cleaner. Plan to scrub them in tonight if the weather holds.
