There aren't too many strip clubs out west really. I don't think Utah has them at all and I've never seen one in Colorado either. However, Des Moines, Iowa is pretty much Mecca when it comes to strip clubs. They're big, nice and clean (the clubs, not the strippers), full nude and full alcohol. You'd never suspect that Iowa has great strip places. West Virgina is another great one- same as Iowa and cheaper.

Always has these deep assed thoughts about how much he misses his wife (skinny ugly cunt, I'd be glad to be away from her) and bouts with depression. Then he drops his bike and can't pick it up so he has Charlie come to the rescuse. Boorman was the shining point of the series though - funny guy, knows how to ride and deosn't give a fuck about anything. Ewan's wife show's up for a short while to ride with them. She sucks at riding worse than Ewan does....if that's possible.

My GPS logs trips as well - kinda useless for me though. It'll put the track on a map and you can slick anywhere on the map to get speed, date, time, elevation and someother useless (to me anyway) info. Older GPSR's did a lot of this stuff whereas the newer ones are made for dummies and don't have as many features. The Soccer Moms just didn't wanna pay for the extra stuff. It'd be neat if the camera did it for you and listed it under the "Properties" menu.

I think the Sportser 883 with a peanut tank has a bout a 70 mile range as well. You;d have to fill it every time you rode across town on those things. Anyway, a spare or larger tank would definitely be needed to do this ride.

There's shitloads of ready made cells you can buy. But most are an odd shape. I could make ya one to fit inside of your saddlebag if ya wanted. But it would have to be bolted directly to the frame somehow. Just not safe to have one bouncing all over the place in a saddlebag. I've seen a lot of HD's with 2-3 gallon plastic gas cnas strapped to their luggage. Not very safe either, but certainly a cheap solution. 80 miles range is a joke for a bike. Can't believe they make bikes like that.

I did it once and rode mostly back roads to Atlanta where I stayed overnight. The next day, I just hauled on I-75. Overall, I'd say it sucked and wouldn't do it again. Just wasn't that much fun and riding in Florida really sucks balls. Shitloads of cops there and we couldn't find a single curve...anywhere. On the plus side, ya can't beat fresh fish right off the boat for dinner each night. It's Florida's only reason for existing. Have some pics somewhere if you're interested.

Yup - hotels typically run about 35% or so of the trip's total costs... And with shorter trips like this one, you can probably factor out the tires as you won't use a fresh set. This can be a cheap trip! I added in 5,000 miles onthe above example, but it'd be much less for this one.

Wow - you'd take an extra day just to get there! Might have to look into a fuel cell to bolt to the bike. In a few spots, it's well over 100 miles between gas stations.

Call me Mr. Timely, but I just saw this.... sorry for the late reply. I suppose a HD / cruiser could do this ride, but seriously doubt you'll be catching up at the fuel stops. Maybe at night at the hotels. Speeds are usually in the 80-85 mph area with fuel stops every 175 miles or so. If no one else goes with me, fuel stops will be every 300 miles. But no matter, I can give you a daily route sheet with the hotel stops and you can catch up whenever you catch up. Might be 2-3 others that wanna go at a slower pace as well. Highways are a necessary evil to cover the midwest in a hurry. Doing two lane roads across Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wyoming would be torture and best avoided.

And don't forget - Reuben has the proper equipment to test the spring's rate before he installs them. He makes damned sure you're getting what you paid for! I'm taking a friend's VFR800 to him this week so that he can get the forks done with the proper rate springs for his riding style. And be careful if you want to change your own rear spring - can be dangerous if you don't know what you're doing and aren't using the proper equipment. Reuben has a custom made rear spring compressor / changer stand so you know it'll get done right.

If you buy metric fasteners froma hardware store, make damned sure you check the thread pitch with a pitch gauge. Jap bikes use fine threads and a lot of hardware stores don't stock fine threads. Especially in the larger sizes like 10mm and 12mm. Bikes use 10mm X 1.25 pitch and 12mm X 1.50 pitch whereas hardware stores typically sell 10 X 1.5 and 12 X 1.75. If the bolt doesn't thread in easily - don't force it, or you'll fuck up the treads.
