  1. Might get $0.20 a pound for scrap value, but that's about it. Inserts have replaced these relics.
  2. I'm in Sidney, Ohio tonight. Have about an inch on the ground and it's still coming down. Suck!
  3. barricade right at happy Valley Road & 129.. Po Po sitting there 24/7 to discourage those who would ride the Gap anyway... Nothing happening here today and no word on when things might open back up. No matter - loads of other shit to do .
  4. Few piccies from today..... A couple of shots from the Foothills Parkway; A warning on the Parkway;
  5. Dates? I'll only be there on Fri and Sat nights. All double rooms (two beds)?
  6. PS - 74 degrees here today - lots of bikes out tooling around. Bastards!
  7. Stopped by the Gap today as I'm here for work this week. The road is pretty much clear of debris at this point, but I was told that they are going to remove some more unstable rock so that it doesn't fall again. I didn't get to the other end of the Gap, obviously, but was told it's barricaded at the NC/TN line, just up the hill from CRoT. We should rethink out jotel location for the May trip. I'm staying just off of I-40 n the far west side of Knoxville. Staying here would put us a bit closer to the TN side of the Cherohala, Triangle and the route to Georgia. Loads of hotels, restaurants, etc here. Even close proximity to another strip club (been to this one before, not as good as Last Chance, but closer to the hotels, BYOB etc.). I didn';t check hotel rates, but can do so. Just let me know how many rooms we need. I'll stop atthe front desk in the morning and see if we can get a deal.
  8. Start saving up your one dollar bills!

  9. Doesn't matter, Deal's is the worst part of riding down there. We should get our asses up early one day and head for northern Georgia. Great riding there and some decent stuff along the way.

  10. I'm not making up anyone's mind for them or suggesting anything - just pointing out locations of where stuff is. If ya want cheap rooms, then moving out of the downtown area into cheaper suburbs would be the thing to do.
  11. Just based on location, the Westin would be my last choice as it's the furthest away from everything... The Sheraton is in the middle of it all. Another choice would be the Hampton Inn as it's right in the middle of it all as well. Ditto with The Canterbury Hotel. Hampton Inn 105 South Meridian Street 317 / 261-1200 The Canterbury Hotel 123 South Illinois Street 317 / 634-3000
  12. No minimum number of rooms required at the Sheraton.
  13. That's pretty much what I would do. Shit - I do that already! Nice car - maybe you could get a convertible for that "on bike" feeling.
  14. Sheeeit- we used to ride to the top of the Cherohala when it ended at the Tennessee / North Carolina line, Then rode a dirt road down into Robbinsville on sportbikes - it was about 9 miles or so. It won't kill ya - not like you do it all day fer fucks sake. Quit being such a fuckin' pussy and man up a bit. Or ya can just stay home.
  15. Or ya take the Cade's Cove road(Parson's Branch) or Happy Valley Road and get there in 30 minutes....if it's north of Happy Valley. Fucked if it's south., then Cade's is your option. Doesn't matter, like you said, be all gone in another day or two.
  16. Doh! Nevermind. A small rock slide that'll close the road about 3 miles north of Deal's Gap for a day or so. Not a big deal at all. Easy to get around, etc.
  17. May 14-16 weekend. Some may stay a little longer and / or get there a bit earlier, but that's the weekend.
  18. True, but it really makes me itch inside my leathers once it starts to dry.
  19. Happy Valley Road is right where the Foothills Parkway intersects 129. Based on the video, I'd say it's to the south of Happy Valley a bit. So it won't really affect the Gap itself at all as it's a mile or so before you get to it (coming from the north anyway). Go around and hit the Gap from the South and you'll have no issues at all. All of the best riding is south of here. "Man, I didn't even see it!" - fugger must have been blind!
  20. Done. That's the kind of crap I like to see!
  21. Exactly! That's the stuff I wanna see on video - not a bunch of boring ass bike shit.
  22. It's old and he used a shit camera (best he had back then), but here's a vid that my friend Eddie took at the Gap... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jp53I3kfqr8 I always say I'm gonna take some video when I go down there and then I never do as it's such a huge fuckin' hassle to mess around with cameras. But this time, I really want to take some as it's been years since I attempted to get any vid. Also need to take some video of the "off the bike" fun at the hotels...like ShittyGixer shittin' his pants in the hotel and losing the pudding leaf blower wars. He should have never messed with a professional. Those will be the best videos as all of the on bike stuff tends to look the same.
  23. That is, without a doubt, the best drawing I've seen on OR in quite some time. I think it's CAD (Corona Aided Design).
  24. 2 lbs should be enough to do it all. I don't disassemble parts though. It's a pain in the ass and I hate doing it. All assemblies need to be competely taken apart prior to blasting and coating. Do you want all of the items done in the same color?
  25. Yup - no problem. What color - pink? Just did that other crap for you - pistons, gears, camshaft. They're at Reuben's.
