  1. are there even thoughts of Zuki and Yamaha leaving GP?

i dont think yamaha will just with the way they are dominating, maybe the satellite teams will pull, maybe. but suzuki on the other hand i feel would pull out first with the way their results have been as of late, although they have had a glimmer of hope with capirossi i believe getting on the podium this season.

I have no idea...who would have thought Honda and Kawi would have with all the crap they have their hands in. I guess it's possible.

um.umm.gif im pretty sure honda didn't pull out of GP. just AMA

correct me if im wrong though

  2. what angle are you talking about?

the y axis angle (looking from the front or back level with the bars) or the x axis angle (looking from above)

if its the latter you can adjust that angle with aftermarket clip ons easy. other than that why do you want to be so specific about the angle?

  3. Scotts dampers are made by Ohlins. They all say Ohlins on the front face... So, buying a Scotts? You're buying an Ohlins...

Oh, and top mount dampers are MUCH safer than traditional side or front mounted dampers. Top mount requires a bike to be flipped upside down and impacted SEVERLY to get destroyed. They get scrapped like seen in the pics, but not damaged beyond use. Hence, the reason why a lot of racers run them...

Typical dampers get their rods bent usually...

i know they are made by ohlins, i meant the piston style damper when i said that.

good info on the top mount, thanks.

  4. It's filled with fluid, my only concern would be if that damage at the edge would lead to a leak...

I have allways used Ohlins, so other than that it does look pretty knarled.... How exactly did he damage that?

i wanted an ohlins orginally but was talked out of it due to the fact that they have the opportunity to get damaged easier because they stick out more.

damaged by a lowside, bike ended up on its top side. he's still trying to figure out how in the heck the damper got damaged...

There's nothing wrong with the damper. There shouldn't be any leaking around that area as the seal is internal and between the halves. I've seen a LOT worse and working fine...

You can also send it off to Scotts/Ohlins and have them freshen it up (suggested). But, for $200, I think you should look around a bit more. That seems a little high in that condition. I see $250 for pretty damn good looking units. Of course, w/o mounts, but the unit is pretty much universal and the mount makes it dedicated to whatever bike...

I have a Scotts in excellent shape and all you'd need is a mount bracket. But, I am not willing to sell it, but you'd be looking at $250 or $300 for one in my condition...

If you offer the guy $175 shipped, I'd jump on it if he agrees. You need the plastic cap and that's really it...

he says its working perfectly. 25 race weekends over 3 years. bought new. no damage around the mating surfaces.

i was going to send it off as soon as i got it. calling Scotts today to get some more information about what to look/ask for.

ah shucks brian your not selling?! haha but i understand your point.

ill shoot him that offer and see what he says.

This is your safety and very could be a life & death decision you're making here. What would the cost be for Scotts to service? You're saving about $160 by buying used, but if it's gonna cost you close to that to have it serviced you're better off buying new.

yes i understand my safety which is the reason i asked the question as to whether or not this looks to be in good working order. obviously if it wasn't or had the possibility of leaks then i would pass.

also i heard servicing was around 50 dollars. again i have to double check with Scotts today though

  5. looking at a scotts damper, working with a well repped guy off the wera board so im not worried about getting screwed in this deal, just curious of the condition of the damper.

    IMG00005.jpg

its around 200 including the correct mount. Does that just look like surface damage or something that could lead to more problems? If i do get this i would send it to get serviced by scotts. he says that the scratches do not affect the performance of the damper and that it works perfectly

    more pics coming tonight.

  6. the older sidi's soles wore out like crazy from what i heard, but they have since gotten smart and designed replaceable soles.

good idea to go to pony and try on all the different boots they offer and make your decision off that.

question: why 2 piece? don't you already have a jacket? so now you'd have two jackes?? i say get a one piece and you'll be happy. don't forget to keep snooping around those ebay delears getting rid of their inventory. bought my 1pc for 75% off.

  7. ^they actually probably could. i got my uncle a vinyl for his phone last year for xmas too. he uses his phone more than anyone i know, in and out of his pocket, on and off the counter, plus its his work phone etc... it gets pretty beat up.

the only thing with his and the edges are ever so slightly showing signs of bending up. and i really had to look hard to see what he was saying. but he put it on in a hurry after he got it, no cleaning or prepping at all so that has something to do with it. the color is still good as the day he got it.

  8. i haven't had a problem since all i've ever gotten from there was my own image

but im assuming its in the fine print.

every site that prints things as its main profit has something in the regards of "we reserve the right to decline an image due to copyright violations etc"

  9. i got the laptop vinyl cover for my dad last xmas. it came out VERY NICE!

still has it on to this day and not peeling or wearing down at all. still looks like the day he opened it up.

i want to get this for my phone, but going to make my own little nicky hayden design. we'll see if they accept or reject it to copyright issues...

or they'll just think im some kinky dude who wants "69" on his phone...

  10. you talking motogp ducati style

    Casey%20Stoner%20third.jpg

don't think it should be too hard, just put a 45 bend in it, slash cut it to be even with the fairings, and you need an elliptical cut through the fairings.

or the easy way is to do a simple hole instead of elliptical...lol

  11. :plus1:

I'm over the holidays...try working in a restaurant, people come in after Christmas shopping and act like assholes. I hate my job

i've done both food and retail.

retail is worse. most of the time i just hand the ball of to the manager that i dont like and let her handle it.

+2 i have wanted to kill some customers!!! but the christmas is still cool with me. just not the people and what society has made it to be.

    already have.

    twice.

  12. RC1 jacket and a new set of gloves for street is what i am looking at possibly a one piece suit .

Lizard I dont feel like ordering and haveing to send back and then possibly sending it back again just to get the right size. And your opinion is just that your opinion...... if i can save over $200 by ordering online what does it matter to you . U seriously need to cut back on your caffeine .

    easy there dude.

i think he knows a little more than the average "joe" his opinion holds a little more weight than a lot of peeps here.
