  1. I used the spring clips on my heavy bikes (77 and 79 CB750) and those were 630 chains, Heavy Duty. on the XX, i just use the crush style just because I have the tool, and that's what the manufacturer suggests. I'd have no concerns about running a spring clip master link if a situation arose where i needed a link and didnt have the tool.
  2. If you're really into Kawi, I'd go with a Ninja 250 or 500, the twin will allow you to learn without getting you into too much trouble if/when you mishandle the controls... a R1 or ZX-10 are not reccomended by most people to be a first or "almost" first bike... the power and torque can get you into a lot of trouble if you accidentally do something you didn't mean to do. Edit, if you're looking for a yamaha, this one might be a good option http://ohioriders.net/index.php?/topic/102346-2003-yamaha-yzf600r/ not as crazy as a r6, but still plenty of power, and not a bank breaker.
  3. What is your experience with motorcycles?
  4. it's just a rehashing of the claims posted on "gunfacts.info" every other year... they twist the same stats, pepper in some facts to make eveything seem legit. More info on the writer. HTTP://WWW.GUYSMITH.ORG http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guy_Smith_%28writer%29
  5. I've got one you could use, but again way out of your way.
  6. Wipeouts are no fun... Hope you heal up quick.
  7. Currently, in most cases, the motorcyclist, In ohio it would be considered an "improper lane change".
  8. this is what i'm used to seeing when a tire reaches the end of life... Angel ST Diablo Strada when i see that, i know th tire is done, I ride it home and wait until I make arrangements for a new tire. Then I either ride it to the installer, or pop her up on the center stand and drive the wheel to the installer.
  9. I'd demand a rebalance free of charge.
  10. I'm in... Don't have any data beyond what you've already posted, but I agree that it could be beneficial.
  11. That is what I said, if you could instantly decide to go from drunk to sober at will, then I wouldn't care if people drove drunk down an empty freeway... I don't care if they do 180 mph down an empty freeway. Well, again thatis what I'm saying, I drive the same routes every day, and have for the past 13 years. I know where the hidden driveways are, I know where the cross streets are, I can see when There is someone coming in the opposite direction, and when I need to focus on those things I'm not looking at my phone, obviously. As for animals jumping into the street or scampering out of the woods, fuck 'em.
  12. Yeah, it will affect your reaction time if your texting in a situation that requires your attention. if youre going straight down a flat open road with little to no traffic, it's not going to make a difference if you're texting or not because there is nothing to react to. If you could dynamically alter how sober or drunk you are based on the driving conditions you're faced with then I'd argue drinking and driving would be fine if you know what you're doing, too... but you can't, you're as drunk as you are until the effects wear off, no matter if you get into a high traffic area, or a town with lots of pedestrians, you're as drunk as you are and can't change it. You can dynamically alter how much attention you give to driving, and believe me, driving straight down an empty freeway doesn't require my full attention.
  13. excellent progress sir.
  14. No.. it's not... Drinking and driving: Directly affects brain chemistry (reaction time, perception, etc), lasts until the effects wear off, impairs judgment Texting and driving: has no effect on brain chemistry, lasts only until the operator chooses, has no effect on judgement. People that can't do it, shouldn't... just as people who can't drive a manual transmission, or a car with manual steering, brakes, and an engine that doesn't like to idle, or balance a motorcycle, or anything else that requires a specific set of multitasking skills... If you can't do it, don't do it... if you can do it, nobody is going to notice you doing it.
  15. I agree with Max, and believe me, that is unusual...
  16. I don't understand why the tablet doesn't have a bluetooth earpiece built in... then it can have whatever size screen you like, and when you get a call, you just pull out the bluetooth, jam it in your ear, hit accept/answer and you don't look absurd... I do like the Phablets that samsung is producing, but I haven't had any luck with samsung phones.
  17. The phrase that pays: nah, fuck it, I'll just enjoy the ride home.
  18. If I had a new tire on the Xx, I'd ride along with you. But I don't so I can't.
  19. Maybe she was having an off day, or maybe driving isn't her forte...i don't think the skill of driving is indicative of overall intelligence...Nascar drivers seem pretty good at it but they talk like fucking dipshits.
  20. Hell no, cash in hand, as is, where is... I wouldn't deliver
  21. I do plenty of illegal shit, just because it's illegal doesn't mean it's wrong... just because it's legal doesn't mean it's right... It might seem like a super power to you, but it's really pretty simple. I look at my surroundings, and driving conditions and make a judgement regarding the odds of something entering my path within the next few seconds. If I have a reasonable confidence that my path will remain clear for the forseeable future, I hold my phone near my primary gaze, and switch my screen from peripheral to primary, and back every second or 2... it's really not rocket surgery.
  22. Here, fixed it for you.... I've demonstrated my skills with my driving record. When you can provide a shred of evidence that my skills aren't sufficient, feel free to dispute my claim, until then your argument is simply "I can't handle it, so nobody can".
  23. It's not fine because of what is said, it's fine because of what I've demonstrated with my driving record.
