  1. yep, I'm never a fan of laws intended to protect me from myself...
  2. yeah, but your CVT causes way more friction losses through the drivertrain than conventional gears. (why bicycles don't typically have CVT)
  3. Yes, LG is a conglomerate: Lucky, Goldstar, and some people from Zenith. I didn't notice much of a weight difference between passive glasses, and the current gen active glasses. Personally i'd go with a Samsung, good quality for the price. I have a 60 and 2 32s
  4. Linked Brakes? Only shiddy riders need those Touchscreen? Witchcraft.. burn them at the stake Liquid Cooling? Water is for toilets... Harley has what bikers crave... Split Stream Fairing? What is this a motorcycle or a car? windscreens and helmets are for wimps. Floating rotors? what should we make them out of life preservers?
  5. yes, designed by porsche... hated by purists...
  6. I didn't like the passive 3d system... it's nice that the glasses are cheap, but I didn't like the picture quality as much as the active systems.
  7. Prepare Yourselves! Enraged Harley Purists are coming.
  8. wow, how did you get that engine down to 6 rpm? that's really low idle... LOL, mine redlines at 11,500, I usually shift at 11,000 through the first 3 gears then skip up to 6 for cruising. Mine has a +1 sprocket up front just to correct the speedo.
  9. Gas mileage? how bad is it? (I average 33mpg on sunny warm days, 45ish on wet rainy days.)
  10. I'd build an electric version, more low key for bicycle trails...
  11. Sounds like a series of loose or corroded connections... can of WD 40, box of Qtips, a small wire brush, and a multimeter... also, what is a ferring?
  12. not sure if this helps at all http://reviews.lcdtvbuyingguide.com/lg-lcd-tv/lg-55ga6400-vs-55ga7900.html Also, this guy returned it for lag... http://www.avsforum.com/t/1471203/official-lg-55ga7900-owners-thread
  13. Yeah, I personally could care less about what truck they park in my driveway, as long as the person coming into the house is reasonably friendly, end exceedingly knowledgeable.
  14. I think if you keep doing what you're doing, quality work at affordable prices, you'll be in pauly's boat soon enough (more work than time). Like they say: take care of your customers and the business will take care of itself.
  15. I run steel sprockets and did oring chain... last time I ordered them from white buffalo racing... dunno if they are still in business or not

    Car Troubles

I don't like to throw around the words scammed, or duped, or ripped off willy nilly. I'd be hesitant to automatically assume malice in the intentions of your mechanic. Competence, however, seems apparent in this case. I'm not sure if I personally would hand him $500 for the "diagnosis and repair" he's done so far, but it's becoming more and more apparent he doesn't really know what's going on with your vehicle, and hoping that swapping out a completely new engine will be easier than fixing the problem with yours. (which it may very well be) If i were in your shoes, I would definitely take it to a more competent mechanic.
  17. So the consulate in libya says "gee it's kinda dangerous here, we might be attacked"... and the state department says "no shit sherlock, it's fucking libya".4 people died from a terrorist attack in 2012 (in a foreign country) and somehow it's a scandal, thousands die in new york during a terror attack in 2001 and it's a tragedy, even though the wtc had been targeted before, and the government knew it was a target. Also, isn't "terrorism" kinda reserved for violence against a civilian population? Would a foreign government agency qualify as a civilian population? Just curious.
  18. Lol, what do you mean you've "gotten to me"?You can consider whatever you like, but that won't stop me from pointing out what you're shoveling is horse shit.

    Car Troubles

Popping the heads off and looking costs more than $500? I wouldn't think so... but then I don't typically take vehicles to mechanics...

    Car Troubles

If he didn't have an interference engine, he wouldn't have bent anything...lol
  21. Last go round I voted for Ron

    Car Troubles

So they didn't bother checking to see if the valves were bent BEFORE putting in a new timing chain? That's a shitty diagnostic call on their part... IMO, you shouldn't have to pay for that. As for what to do now... depends on what car....
