I just pour on some heavy gear oil (80 wt or more) as the bike sits in the driveway on the centerstand idling in 3rd gear... it's kinda smelly and sticky, but the chain sure seems to like it, so I don't really care. I don't worry about washing my already black wheels too often, and the inside of the chain guard collects most of the rest of the excess. (ther than what drips off into the driveway, or flings off during the first 1/2 mile of riding)

I do plan on going that way once more to see what is on the other side of that gooey mess, but i'm doing it in the dune buggy, lol

perhaps you could find a vehicle that is more aerodynamic than an elephant next time... j/k congrats on the new toaster

I don't trust myself enough to trailer or haul my bike anywhere, let alone anyone else. glad it worked out for you though, congrats.

I thought it was a harley joke at first... (your bike leaks a lot of oil that then gets transferred to your boots and drips all over the seat when you swing a leg over....)

I think the lateral play is fine... but i did notice it was a hair noisier than it was with the rubber grommets, hence making my own rubber grommets.

personally I'd have been pissed. My friends know better than to touch my bike without explicit permission beforehand.

mine was the same way, i made my own rubber grommets out of some tire patches. not sure if this is normal or not but that was how i dealt with the situation (01 CBR 1100xx)
