Yesterday after spending 9 incredible days on the beach in Monterey (condo is actually on the beach) I got stuck riding two hours in the rain on my way home. We suffer just as much as you snow drones do.

Monterey is one of my and the wife's favorite places. We've been down here for a week now and kids are just loving it too. Today it has cooled off quite a bit and is windy as all hell too, but still beats the hell out of Ohio! What part of CA are you staying in now? Best Chinese food is Union Chinese on Union Ave in San Jose. Just for shits and giggles, check out Fry's Electronics. their "34 point" checklist would also be found in your owner's manual. It will detail exactly what needs to be checked and or serviced for each of the scheduled services. for HD, the difference between the moco sold "Service Manual" and the "Shop Manual" is little to do with process and mostly convenience. In the end user 'service manual', the torque specs are listed independently of where the service procedure appears, (ie; for wheel removal it tells you to remove this bolt and that bolt, but does not state the torque values nor the bolt specs in the same section). In the HD 'shop manual' all pertinent info is listed together. I also noticed that the Clymer service manual for my bike is a bit difficult follow and quite vague at times. The actual HD manual is 100 times better. Purchase the service manual for you bike, find a forum specific to your bike, and start there. Even if you NEVER wrench on your own bike, at least you will know what the stealer I mean Dealer was supposed to repair and the steps involved. An informed consumer is the one least likely to get screwed.

The DDM motorcycle specifici HIDs are the bees knees man! If your bike has spec minimum wiring harness (as most sport bikes do), get the wiring harness and draw power directly from the battery. Hell, if you have any electrical know how or know someone that does, you can just create your own jumper from the battery

guessing you never watched your HD dealer do your 500 mile service. It is indeed just changing oil, check "critical" fasteners, check belt(s)/chain(s). They do not pull your wheel and verify brake wear. If they did, I would not have bothered purchasing the service manual for my HD and thrown away my complimentary k-y supply courtesy of HD.

you should have been looking in West Carson, Carson, Torrance, and Gardena. Unlike the midwest and east coast, when a city in CA has the word "beach" in its name it means it IS a beach... Couldn't afford beach front if I got a $100k raise when I moved back here. If it's not too late, I have a very good friend in home sales down that way.

will not result in "premature" failure. On the outside chance that it does, DDM has a no hassle lifetime warranty on their ballasts. I've been running my DDM HIDs without a delay or relay and have had ZERO issues in over 5k miles. The 5 seconds that it may take for your engine to turn over ain't gonna do a thing to the ballast

I spliced my low beam to the high beam so the low stays on even when high beam is on. This solves the warm up problem when going form high beam back down to low (although since installing the HID I have yet to use the high beam) At most there will be a 12amp draw for <2 seconds. Most I've seen with my 55w set up is 6amp on start up for less than 2 seconds. I run HID for high and low and do not use the harness. No issue in 10k miles

hmm, last I checked phone gps systems only work assuming you have a cellphone signal. Standalone GPS is your better choice. I've never owned a motorcycle specific gps and have never had a problem. Quite a few inexpensive units on the market from $50 to sky's the limit.
