  4. for those that don't know, this is gonna sound foolish. Some of the if not THE best pipe benders are electricians. You'll most likely need someone else to weld shit together, but the bending by electricians is some of the best I've ever seen.
  5. Riding in the rain for me is fun and liberating, but when you get caught in it for hours and not prepared.....it just plain sux
  6. radiantz.com customdynamics.com google.com.....
  7. You can absolutely use a set of markers you have lying around. VRSCD is no different than any other bike when it comes to the signals. Poke around the 1130 website first though, lots of cool shit being done over there. Lots have removed the dog ass (license plate holder), chopped the rear fender, and installed led strip lights for brake/run/turns.
  8. maybe my understanding of this bill is flawed (as I have not read all 2400 pages), but I was under the impression that the "law" requires individuals to have healthcare coverage. either that provided via a third party, or the Feds. Is this not correct and the FEDS are now saying it's Fed Med or else?
  9. check out 1130cc.com It's a forum dedicated to VRODS. I personally went with a taillight with integrated signals from heavycycles.com
  10. trust me, you could hike in these with no problem, just did it couple weeks ago in Mt. Diablo.
  11. instead of liquid nitrogen try K-Y
  12. push him out the way, have your way with her, AFTER setting up the webcam of course.
  13. Bro you, I mean Ned HAS to follow through on it. It would be for Ryan's own good. He needs to learn that not everyone that shits on him is trying to hurt him, and not everyone that gets him out of shit is trying help him. He'll thank you when he grows up.
  14. $140 for a used textile mesh jacket that has been down is WAYYYY toooo much. Tell your buddy 50 bucks and it's a deal. As far as safety of mesh gear... as long as it has armor I have no problem wearing it. I do it for comfort and some added safety. My main riding jacket is a Fieldsheer textile w/armor. I prefer textile as it requires less maintenance and Usually has more venting options.
  15. now that I've been away from "The Pony" for almost a year, let me tell you folks how awesome it really fucking is! The average bike gear shop or even bike shop here is less than 20k square feet. The largest gear shop I've seen so far is Dainese in San Fran, and that is only about 50k with only about 30k being actual gear. I miss IP and the 100+k square feet of merchandise.
  16. hey Hoblick, if you make house calls I have a 260 that needs to go on the VROD
  17. attach the soft part of velcro to the front of your son's clothes, then the hook part of the velcro to your back... problem solved.
  18. just eliminating the insurance companies ability to cancel coverage on someone for "maxing out" their benefit dollars makes this bill worth it's weight in gold. Nothing like being treated for terminal cancer and living longer than the diagnosed 6months, just to get a phone call form the insurance folks telling you that you're now being dropped. Not a fun phone call for the person or their family.
  19. Congrats and good luck big guy
  20. Among developed countries, the United States has the 10th highest death rate among cancer patients, higher than Spain and Sweden. Prostate cancer has the highest fatality rate, not breast cancer. If you have a double breast-ectimy (scientific term) you can have new ones installed that will be bigger and no doubt better than your originals. Not the same for prostate cancer or colorectal. So please no more bullshit about breast cancer! For the record, I am a cancer survivor and my particular cancer is not common in folks under 60. I got tagged with it at 30 which went misdiagnosed for three years by 4 different doctors in the "free choice" healthcare system, and damn near killed me. In my oncologist's words, "If there was such a thing as stage 3.5 cancer, you have it. It's good bit worse than stage three, but not quite stage four". (there are only 4 stages of cancer, and stage 4 is a death sentence for 95%) Our current healthcare system is also the reason my wife's mother lost her battle with her misdiagnosed cancer, which wasn't breast cancer either.
  21. I know that guy. This was in South San Jose, CA. Believe it was back in December while the midwest folks were blanketed in the fluffy white stuff you call snow. Believe his name is Howie.
  22. at least as strong as leather, but since leather is only tested for abrasion, not fill or warp. There is a synthetic windproof coating on this fabric and these coatings often improve strength. The coated fabric performed at 150lb/sq inch across the fill and 251.6lb/sq inch across the warp. Uncoated strength was about 10% less. Leather is just tested one way. There is no fill & warp.
  23. As of today I've been motoring on two wheels for 33 years, and on the street for 22 years. That being said, this school year I just started taking my 6yr old son on the bike. Only short trips of about 3 miles to his school and home from his school though. As a new rider, you shouldn't consider taking your son on the bike with you until: 1) you get your MC endorsement 2) you've gone at least a season if not two seasons without any accidents or incidents 3) your son is able to balance himself (being able to ride a 2 wheeled bicycle is the benchmark) 4) your husband feels confident that you are ready to have your child as a passenger. I know quite a few bikers (sportbikes and cruisers) that have modified car seats to attach to their bikes to tote around the brats. I've seen a few of the set ups, and even rode in one! If you go the modified car seat route I would suggest ratcheting tie downs NOT bungee cords.
