While we're on the subject, .223 wylde is another marking that you will find on the barrel of AR's. .223 wylde marked guns are 5.56 safe due to the wylde being designed to withstand 5.56 chamber pressure. 5.56 rounds have a higher chamber pressure because the military brass is typically thicker in the root of the brass near the head when compared to commercial brass.

Why would you even want to shoot 5.56 or 7.62 at an indoor range?

If anyone is looking to reload 30-30, I have about 130 pieces of once fired brass that was reloaded but never fired. I pulled the bullets and deprimed. I can wet tumble them if someone wants. I'll trade them for other brass (9mm, 357mag, 38spc, or LC .223), projectiles, primers, or powder. I also have some deprimed and wet tumbled once fired 44mag brass. Don't remember the exact count but I think it was about 100. I can get an exact count later but same stipulations as above.

I don't think a gun needs to be quality to have sentimental value later down the road. My first .22 rifle was an old Mossberg Model C single shot when I was about 5. It was scratched, rusted, and had a small chunk missing out of the left side of the butt. My mom restores antique furniture so she helped me strip the finish, sand out all the scratches, and filled the missing chunk with wood filler. We refinished the stock and removed all the rust with 0000 steel wool. The gun probably isn't worth shit to anyone else, but I'll never get rid of it.

I see the advantages like this. Howa, savage, and tikka all have detached magazines. Not sure how many rounds each will hold or the availability of magazines but at least you start with detached bottom metal. The 700 has no detached magazine but bottom metal upgrades are available from surgeon and seekins. The aftermarket for the 700 far surpasses any of the aforementioned rifles though. It all depends on what your plans for the gun are and your budget.

I picked up an LCR in 357 last night at gander. I wanted a S&W Lightweight but they didn't have them in 357 mag. Did a full disassembly and first application of froglube as soon as I got home. If you think a revolver has minimal parts, do a full disassembly and then we'll talk. I'll take a full disassembly of a 1911 any day over a revolver.
