Trip to NE GA

Just felt like gloating a bit, I'm home from a weekend trip to the Suches area in Georgia. While it was a bit cold in the evenings we had some great riding weather during the days. We tent camped for this trip, it got down to 31 Sat. night. It was worth the cool weather for the great riding the area offers. The bike clocked 714 miles for the weekend. Looking forward to the gap ride in June. Hopefully I'll get back over in the area another time or two before then :)

I hate you & wish I was you at the same time. I really love 60 around Suches.

I lived in the Spring City, TN area in the early 90s. Where you crossed the river on 60 used to be a ferry that didn't run at night. You couldn't cross at 30 either if the ferry wasn't running. If you got caught on the other side of the river at night you had to drive down to Chattanooga or up to 68 across Watts Bar. It took a very long time to get back home if you didn't pre plan plus if it was a weekend you were most likely going to get stopped at half of the county lines because every other county was dry & they wanted to catch you crossing into the dry counties from the den of sin you just left.

That's pretty sweet. I'm going to try to do a little bit of this during the summer. How did you carry all your stuff?

Thought you'd get a kick out of this. This was a trip to Georgia and several surrounding states a while back. It was very hard to get on and off the bike. It wasn't easy but you can turn an f4i into a packing machine. ;)

I'm a little nervous about getting a large tank bag. Other than hard to get on/off, how was it? I've got some other bags that go on the back though.

Actually, it wasn't that bad. I actually found myself resting on it occasionally. I rode that bike with a tank bag frequently but only rarely that large though. That was full expansion and then some. But the getting on and off really was a challenge since I'm a shortie.
