kawasaki to release "ground breaking" ninja h2.

So the rumors are flying all over about this one. Saying it'll be any thing from a 500 cc to a supercharged 1500 cc. But the teaser videos at www.ninja-h2.com sounds like there could be a supercharger.

That sounds like a turbo and blow-off valve to me.... If I had to guess, I'd say smaller displacement (500-800cc) turbo pushing more power than the ZX10 and lighter. Just my guess.

Kawi unveiled a supercharged zx14 motor earlier this year, so new zx14 supercharged death rocket???

I guess kawasaki has several patents about super chargers. Including a variable speed super charger that appears to have a small 2 speed "transmission". What ever it is I hope it lives up to the hype. I'm pretty sure they already have a 250 hp + supercharged jet ski. If they've developed that into a street bike it'll be a game changer.

Mmmmm. Definitely sounded like forced induction in the 6-8 second segment. The remainder of the video almost sounds like an electric motor.... The chirping is definitely not a blow off valve. At least not any of the kind I am familiar with. I highly doubt that. It could very well still be a farce induction setup. The chirp may be a secondary electric motor used to keep the crank spinning at speed like in this article. Maybe a more developed version?

The interwebs says it's a 636-based engine with a turbo.  Bore and stroke the 636 a tad, and a turbo or supercharged 750 I-4 sounds like a pretty good guess.  that would be liter bike power with a lot less weight.   

 

Could be pretty cool, but I'm not sure where it will fit in.   This is being touted as a "flagship" sportbike, so more expensive than the ZX10?

Here's the problem with the small displacement theory. The 2015 zx-10rabs weighs 443 lbs, the 2015 zx-6rabs weighs 228. 15 lb difference which I agree is a lot on a sport bike. But add a supercharger and most likely a bigger tire and the weight difference is greatly reduced. I don't see kawasaki wasting engineering and development time to make 1000cc power out of a chassis that only weighs 10 lbs less and call it their flagship.

I agree.  If Kaw is going though all the engineering gyrations to make a supercharged motorcycle they are going to make a horsepower statement.  It will be at least 1000cc.   Maybe much bigger.

I'm basing my guess (and I admit is purely that) on the articles claiming they have info that the engine is based on the 636, and the fact that the last H2 (the mach IV) was a 750 two-stroke triple.

If this ends up being a turbo triple on a completely new engine block, that would indeed be a lot of engineering...  If it's a 2-stroke, I'll shit myself :p
