So instead of a monopoly of 10 law abiding business people in Ohio you pot heads voted to continue to give your money to another monopoly.  The f'ing Mexican drug cartels.  You folks are giving them money so they can continue to mass murder people.  Good job.

While I don't disagree with this, ResponsibleOhio made a tactical error in making 10 growers part of the proposed bill.  They could have accomplished this behind the scenes by working with politicians who would have no doubt invested in these 10 grow sites.

Adding the 10 growers to the bill just gave a foothold to their opponents (many of which do not understand the actual implications).  IMO, that is the reason the bill failed.

Edit - BTW, much of the weed sold in Ohio is already grown in OH...just saying.

Is that what you believe, or do you actually have proof of that?

I hear about a lot more meth labs than weed grow operations.  And it makes sense - one takes the time, equipment, and patience to grow a plan to maturity.   The other requires some couch syrup, a kitchen, and a few hours.   The ROI is realized much more quickly with meth.  How many patient drug dealers are you acquainted with?

I have ZERO proof of that.  Even if I did, I have ZERO proof of that.  But, there are parts of Ohio that are known for weed production.

According to the news this afternoon, there was quite a bit coming out of Grove City.  I think they said three grow houses involved.  Approximately $1 million in street value, of some quality shizz.

Based on DEA valuations, that's almost two plants, $42 in currency and three grateful dead mix tapes.

RO said it's not over in a story in the paper. Did they spend all their $ this round? If they have all the Operations planned and all the signatures ( to go back for seconds), Who's to say they weren't trying to get a monopoly for shits and giggles(reuse casino business plan) and then go for non monopoly easy win next year.

Their business is ballot initiatives they'll be pushing votes on some scheme or another.

No doubt - I was just making fun of the practice of weighting everything including stalk and dirty root ball for the total weight and multiplying it by the highest street price for the lowest gram bag available.  It's a dishonest way of overstating the value and distorts DEA statements of "We got three million gazillion dollars of drugs off the streets with that raid..."
