2talltim
Does anyone know if the Bugslide cleaner and polish will mess up the finish of a matte finish helmet? Just paid big bucks for my Neotec and don't want to ruin the finish but I want have a cleaner that will keep the shield easier to keep bugs off of. JohnG
Can't speak for the Bugslide. I have a S&S matte black helmet that seems to attract bugs. I use windex and that's all.
JustinNck1
Warm soapy water is the only thing I've ever used on a helmet. That bug slide stuff does work good on fairings and windshields though.
Casper
Bugslide is great stuff, but don't use it or any cleaner in matte finishes. Only mild detergent (like dish soap) and water.
2talltim
Well I did email the manufacturer and ask them this same question and this it the reply I got. .......... Hi Timothy, Thanks for your question and your interest in BugSlide. BugSlide is designed to keep matte finishes matte and glossy finishes glossy. It doesn't contain any wax, petroleum, Teflon or other harsh chemicals that can alter the finish, so you should be good to go! Our recommendation is to try it on a small spot first to see if it works to your liking before applying it to the entire helmet. Here's some additional information from our FAQ page: http://www.bugslide.com/#!faq/c24vq To find a BugSlide dealer near you, you can use our online dealer locator: http://www.bugslide.com/#!where-to-buy/dyva9http://www.bugslide.com/#!where-to-buy/dyva9 Have a great weekend! Al Z. Heimer
http://www.shoei-helmets.com/safety_sizinghandlingcare.aspx Scroll to helmet care. I work with a guy that has a matte gray Harley and says they recommend Windex to clean. That's all he does and it always looks good.
2talltim
I usually use a eye glass cleaner in the past maybe I'll just continue this practice.

JackFlash
I've used bugslide for four years and now it seems it's leaving a film on my windscreen that I can't get off.

That seals the deal, never even going to consider it again for any application.
Connie14
Pledge? It works for me, but I don't have a matte finish.
silentcropduster
Chemical Guys V07. I use it on my car glass and 3x helmets now.this includes a 2007 GSXR 750 withe matte white paint. Zero residue. It's about $35-40 a gallon or u can by a 24oz bottle for maybe $10? It can be used on paint, glass or plastic. Dries clear, and is considered a sealent. If u PM me your address I'll send u a sample. Should be enough to do your visor like 20 times? Whole helmet maybe 5 or so. You'd love it. Lemme know. double thumbin' it! DAC
I've used Plexus on clear plastics like windscreens but don't know how it works on matte finish stuff.
