Heading to Pittsburgh this weekend, what to do?

Wife and I are taking a spur of the moment long weekend trip to the city on the river. Neither of us have a clue of what to do or see while we're there. We like beer and food and interesting architecture. 

 

Where do we absolutely have to go while we're there?

I always wanted to visit the Fort Pitt museum. One of my ancestors was the commander there, way back when. http://www.heinzhistorycenter.org/fort-pitt/

The Monongahela Incline tramway might be fun. Maybe the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. Maybe the Carnegie Museum of Natural History. Maybe the National Aviary. Dunno...

we did one of the double decker bus tours and that was fun as hell. You can get off and on as you please at any of the stops. There are a bunch of areas to shop, sight see, drink, etc on the tour that spending all day doing it is easy.

The Incline is a must do (which is on the bus route)

There's a brewery that is in an old church I've heard is amazing

Primanti Bros is their sandwich joint that is like Panini's but in my opinion slightly better

Primanti sammiches are decent. Their pizza is where it's at.

Ok, as a former inmate I might try these places:

Park at Station Square.

ride the any number bus into town, see the sites.

Check the glitz that is downtown pgh,

Then ride the # 18 bus out of town to E Carson st.

Drink heavily, and have a good time!

then find your car... go to hotel,,,,,, sleep it off...
