worst place to live in town?

Anything off of Cassidy Ave. over by the airport. Back in the day, the first time I went to Force Fed, I thought it said to turn left onto 4th.....big mistake. We had a CPD cop wave us through a red light and tell us to get the hell out of the area.

Mt Vernon ave between 71 and champion. This is just a bad area.

I broke down on 670 and 5th late at night with the girlfriend once. I pulled off at the exit and pulled into a parking lot. A CPD pulled up behind me in the lot with his lights on asking me what I was doing in that area. He escorted be back to campus all the while my blown turbo left a huge smoke screen behind.

I have done construction jobs all over town, one job in particular, we built some low income housing from S. ohio and champion to miller kelton

most of the time the job hours were 7am to 5pm, but on a few late concrete jobs i didn't get out of there untill 10:pm

 

during the day, i'll walk those streets, no problem. But once it starts getting dark, FUCK THAT. it's probibly one of the only places in columbus where i feel I would not make it out of if I whould get a flat.

I grow up on the Hilltop and it's pretty scary stuff (like it could get any scarier). I think it's weird how your comfortable with your own neighborhood (old or new etc...) so to speak but you go to an equally "rough" area across town and you get butterflies.

 

My vote=Any area that has a Life Skills nearby!! I'm only half joking of course!

life skills? where exactly is the bottoms? i thought that was the new word for the ghetto? she is possibly moving to the miller kelton area. i am from eastern ohio...steubenville/pittsburgh/west virginia/toronto/wheeling.....i lived in pickerington, and thought it was nice...i used to drive at night to find my way around for the day....i used to drive all the way down to the west side on main, and think ive seen some of the most horrible hookers ever! i now live right off of bethel road, between upper arlington and dublin. i have never been in a worse area than the miller kelton area. for a detour when 70 shut down, we had to go turn around on the highway, and take the miller kelton onramp to the area. we all had to merge and everyone was taking turns to get in line. i took my turn in the cobra in front of an old caravan, and was followed for about 20 minutes with a guy riding beside me trying to start a fight. normally, i would yell back at people...but he was obviously from the area, and knew his way around the streets. the roads were never plowed, and had about 4-5 inches of packed snow and ice, and had more ice just dumped on us(which is why the detour was in effect)....well, cobras do not go in ice, even if you start out in 4th gear! i was stuck, the guy didnt follow me down the road, because it was a dead end...there wasnt a sign! i was there for 20 minutes or so trying to get out. people peeked out there window, but no one helped. i almost took the volvo front mount that i had just bought out of the trunk, to shove under my tire....i used my pants instead! my girlfriend (if she moves) would be moving into their basement, and i would think that would be even easier to get to her. the guy she would be moving in with(her friend is his fiance and they just bought this house)is not at all a large guy. he is smaller than me, and i wouldnt think he would be able to save anyone from even a little harm. my girlfriend is VERY attractive, and has even told me about being scared just going to her friends house. she is from the independence school area, and considers it no worse, because her sister's car had been stolen. am i wrong? could there be any worse place? should we move to the worst place, just to make our lives seem better? or look like the worst people in the best neighborhood?

I think it would be easier to list the areas that aren't shit holes. smile.gif Hilliard is a clean safe area.... So is Dublin. Whenever I watch the news it seems like all the crime is going on from the north end (71&161) all the way down to the South Hamilton Rd area.

I am from independence school area. A couple streets away. This neighborhood is nice, anything semi-ghetto is worse then this. This neighborhood is like all middle age white ppl mixed with a crapload of drug dealers who normally dont kill or rob anyone.

So, you obviously care about her, then why let her move in there? Think of the absolute worst that could happen, she get's mugged, raped, and possibly murdered. Sure this could happen anywhere in columbus but it's not likely to happen in places like hilliard, dublin, worthington and westerville.

 

And there is affordable housing in those area's i mentioned. My brothers townhouse complex is leasing a unit for 600/month. This is right in the middle of dublin, down the road from muirfield. Look hard enough and you'll find something. goodluck.
