One of the cruiser guys I ride with sent me this:

Saturday, July 19th. Meet at the Rockbridge antique mall on route 33 @ 10AM. Changed to Valero station just north of the antique mall

We'll head out from the antique mall and take some very scenic routes and stop for lunch at Jimbo's in South Bloomingville. After lunch we'll ride some more real nice roads and end up in New Lexington at the DQ.

The map is attached.

If I can make it, I'll be going. As always, there will be different groups for different riding styles/levels, so don't be afraid. In fact, Brian said "we'll put you young guys up front so us old farts don't spoil your fun". This is the same group I rode to Cleveland with. Really good guys.

UPDATE:

Brian changed the route and meeting point. The updated map is attached. Please take note!!!!

I was on the road @ 6:30 this morning to check out the route. I'm happy to report that this ride will not disappoint and the roads are in very good condtion. No closures or construction (They're set up in South Perry for a project but it hasn't started yet. The road will remain open regardless)

There are a couple of changes from my original e-mail.

  • We'll meet at the Valero station just north of the antique mall that way everybody can start out with a full tank of gas regardless of where they came from. There will be gas stops in Nesonvill & New Lex.
  • I added route 78 out of Glouster. 78 is an excellent road and it allows us to pick up more of route 37 between McConnelsville & New Lex.

I was home before 11am without stopping @ Jimbo's to eat so you should plan on about 5 - 6 hours for the entire ride. You should be home in time for dinner. (The red route is about 3 hours + lunch)

For you folks coming from the Columbus area, I have shown how to get a complete loop out of the ride on the new map. Take the 33 by-pass route going down and I'll get you to the business route after New Lex. (UPDATED MAP ATTACHED)

Hope to see you on the 19th at the Valero gas station in Rockbridge @ 10AM!!

Brian

Dang bro, thats no good. How bad is the bike? Let me know if you need any help getting it back on the road.

thanks. the sv isn't very bad at all. it was a low-speed mishap. signals, headlight, rearset/shifter, radiator all need to be replaced. gonna be a challenge to find the wrench time. I hope to be back on the road sometime soon.

man, that sucks. Glad you're okay. Sounds like a good excuse to get a new bike if you ask me... BTW, thanks for the invite on the ride (:bigfinger:)

I keep saying it; but I'm gonna try to make this one. Probably trailer over to Zanesville and drop the truck and trailer at the in-laws place and then ride down from there.

can't do it. i became another victim of the Hills this past sunday on rt. 374. I'm okay, but the bike needs some work.

Good to hear your okay.

Rt 374 is beautiful and has nice asphalt, serious esses and at least one 180.

I drove it in my car last weekend and though this road could take a few riders down.

Sweet dude. If you don't want to go that far, you're more than welcome to park the trailer at our place in Pickerington.
