Stripping paint from aluminum, whats best?

any good paint remover will work though if the valve cover is still bolted on i would advise against it.

 

If the valve cover currently has paint on it (more than likely its powder coated )

Best think i could/would recomend is to cleant it up ans best as possible give it a good wetsanding and make everything smooth and repaint with a good high temp paint.

 

but Ideally i would talke the cover off.

aww Bix wont hurt the rubber gaskets, will it? :p

It'll be coming out, luckily its very simple. Should I use something thick like bix or something thin like Toluen? It'd be nice to have a pan big enough to do a toluene bath, and just use a toothbrush or two to get it clean.

I dont know only thing i have ever used is aircraft paint remover and that shit is nasty.
