Unique things about your car(s)

From the factory, what are some of the odd or unique things about your car?

GTO -

- The gas tank is in the trunk over the rear wheels.

- The factory amp gain is only set on 1/2 it's limit.

- You can press Mode+Set while turning the key on and enter into a pretty cool diagnostic session.

- You can set a chime to beep when you reach a certain mph. Very handy, as it feels you are going 55 in this thing when you're going 70.

- There are no traditonal power doorlock switches (unless you read the book); there is no trunk keyhole.

- The key is HUGE.

- Several interior items are still set up right hand steer.

Avalanche has a ton of cool shit no other truck/suv has:

- Dual cargo lamps in the bed.

- The bed w/ the hardcovers on is weather tight

- The whole midgate/pull the rear window out, reconfigurable bed setup.....I can't imagine buying a quad cab pickup over an Avalanche.....it does everything a regular quad cab does, and a ton of stuff it can't

- Lockable storage compartments on the side of the bed, makes great used of otherwise unuseable space.

- Bed Hard Covers can hold 250lbs on them, meaning it's safe to walk on

- The bed and body are all one unit

- The Avalanche is based on the Suburban frame, not the standard truck frame. This = better ride quality

I can go on, but I'll stop there. I freaking love my Avalanche; it's been a great purchase.

UHHHH i have a mustang. I guess this thread does not pertain to me. :)

"Starting in 1999, with a simple press of the trip button and turn of the key you could not only test your instrument cluster (gauges), oil pressure and speedo senders, but get a real time digital readout of your speed, tach and other info AS you drive your stang."

There are also trouble codes available, but not OBDII codes.

It's one of the hardest and most complex cars in the world to tune.

The front seats have extensions on them for people with longer legs.

Almost every tiny little part it has costs at least $100

It's been reported that the M54 is the smoothest running inline 6 ever made.

Trunk of the buick holds about 6 bodies. Even more if cleaning up after a drunken midget porn festival.

The engine rates as a complete boat anchor from the factory. (307 CI, 140 HP, 4200lb car = pathetic accelaration)

The factory gauge holes fit autometer gauges perfectly.

IIRC, 83 was the last year of the shaft mount radio for GM. (or 85, hafto look)

I can fit 3 dead bodys in my trunk with the subs in. My car emails me when it wants a oilchange or CEL happens (Enough of the onstar shit) my rims are Diamond cut. If you tune my ECU it take 45 minutes the start the fucker afterwards and if you open the door when tuning you can fry a ecu.

Mine also Came with a Roots Blower.

Andrew I don't think I've ever seen any specs on your car as-is, it's a mystery to us.. How much power does she have now? 1/4 mile times?

Not sure on HP, Im gona try and make it to the dyno day this month for shits. 1/4 times are still terible as well. I have lacked the time to take it anywhere and do a good run. The 425 is still sitting on the engine stand, and the 307 in it had about 150K on it when I dropped it in (and probably about 4 oil changes) Lots of blowby. It will leave a cloud on the dyno.

The plymouth only made 212 hp and 1200tq when I dynoed it (couldnt get spark signal, so the graph was fucked) That was also with 1 exhaust valve toasted.

False.

If it is false, please recommend a good tuner to me even Dinan admits that there is very little to do with tuning that car. FI in the form of a turbo has just been released for an e46 330 and e46 started in 99 I believe. It took so long because no one was able to tune the cars right for it.

Emanage will work....

The problem isn't the engine management, it's the gateway used to connect to the engine management. A few have cracked it, but are riding out their investments, like woah.
