Kevin R.
What happens if you buy a bike with no title? You cannot do anything with it as far as registering, tags, etc? correct? Just curious.
excell
Yep. No title = can't run it on the street. It's probably stolen. If you are the owner you can get a replacement title in about three min. at any title agency.
HAOLE
You can file for a lost title with the county you live in. You will need a bill of sale for the bike with the VIN on it, date of sale , and amount. The bill of sale will also need the buyer and sellers name on it, along with a notary stamp. It is not a hard thing to do, I have done it before. This is real common for people who have had a bike in the shed for 20 years not to have a title for it. But, if it has been sold without a title a few times, things get more complicated. What kind of bike?

copperhead
Buy a frame on ebay with a good title, swap the parts. That being said, I do not know the legality of such a process and would not recommend it to anyone.
Rotarded1647545491
If you can find the previous registered owners name and address, send a registered letter. If it is signed for and they does not respond in 90 days (IIRC) you can file for the title as an abandoned vehicle. The requirements are different between car dealers, repair facilities, and private citizens.
