I understand we are one planet of thousands of planets, in this one universe out of thousands of universes... if thats what you mean. I have no doubt in my mind that there is other life on other planets. It sounds more stupid to think that there isnt. There has to be.

Really? Do you think there is other life out there? I feel stupid sometimes if somebody ask's me that, because it's so hard to believe, but yet it could be. Ya know? :wtf:

Gots to be man. I actually said that wrong earlier, we are one planet in one solar system (Milky Way), in one universe. There are thousands of solar systems in our universe... So millions of other planets. How couldnt there be life else where? :dunno:

Wouldn't that be some crazy shit if there is other motorcyclists out there? We'll have a Universal motorcycle rally someday in the year 5599 on some other planet...lol I bet they'd have some killer tracks out there to ride.

I feel like 2 stoners talking here...lol

easy stoners. back to the video. that was cool. it does put things into prospective. at the end of the day we are just a little peice of the puzzle.

Exactly! Last night when I watched it, I got amazed, but yet sad at the same time. I realized that our lives really don't mean a thing in the grand scheme of things. It's just hard to imagine. I mean....all of that shit exists! We get caught up in our everyday life and forget that none of this is anything! The stuff we live and do everyday. It made me realize there is so much more than just what we see.....I don't know. Maybe I'm stoned...lol :dunno::lol:

  • 2 years later...

The vid wouldn't load for me in Fiefox, Opera or IE, so I don't know what's in it, but I'm guessing it's Carl Sagan. Anyway, here's a couple of pics on topic.

Pale Blue Dot(biiiig)

The little dot at 10:00 on the rings, that's us.

Hubble Deep Field(biiig)

Taken at a starless spot about as big as a dime held at arms length. Each one of those spots or globs of light is a galaxy.

yes but... the Drake equations were redone with modern data. And the result is that we really have a unique situation in our solar system. To get life as we know it somewhere else is difficult. Especially after data on other solar systems is now coming in. It's chaos out there, all sorts of strange solar systems.

The current estimates are a possible two or three civilizations of people or mammals like us, in this galaxy (the Milky Way), and unknown what level of advancement. Or if they have even survived.

Ah that's cool people are still moved by this. Carl Sagan's stuff is pretty damn cool. It's been a long time since I've read anything of his. Almost makes me want to get another copy of this book and read it.

If anybody gets me or my brother drunk, we can tell of an extra terrestrial experience. Not any of that see a dot and not know what it is. No weather balloon, or a flock of geese. First hand, within a few meters. And no, we were not probed.
