Ummm...so I like burning discs...Wii uses discs...any way to do so? You know, for "backup" copies.

if you know how/where to DL/burn a dvd, then you already know how to DL/burn a Wii game (for the most part)

but the Wii needs to be modded, there are people on around that do it

Do you like golf? Tiger woods I hear is pretty hard when you swing the controller.

Tiger Woods golf is hard! You have to keep your arm perfectly straight and half the time it doesn't register that you have your arm pointing down.

I got pissed and threw the remote.

Modding the Wii is easy. I've had mine since Day 1 and modded it the week after. DLing games is easy and painless, the only thing thats a bitch is renting a game and copying it, it's easier to just DL it and burn it. For more information about your modding questions go here and read ALL about it: http://forums.afterdawn.com/forum_view.cfm/154

And for all you Wii Haters, don't be jealous that it takes 20mins to mod this and games are DL, burn, and play. :)

Buy bowling and make it a drinking game. Heres what you do:

Take 10 cups and line them up like the bowling pins. Fill them half full with beer or whatever other alcoholic beverage you like. How ever many pins you leave up at the end of the frame is the number of cups you have to drink. If you suck at this game then you'll be drunk by the 7-8th frame lol.

  • 4 weeks later...

The best thing to buy for your Wii is a mod chip, and then you hire some leet fucker like me to mod it for you... I am an EET working for an electronics manufacturer and I can do things to PCBs that violate the laws of nature. I will try to put up a few pics of previous mods...

Costs around 50 bucks for the chip. I work for a buck a minute, so the Wasabi chip is $40 installed. All I need is your Wii, the chip, your power cord and forty bucks and you will be able to back up and play all your legally purchased games. (downloading games from the interwebz and burning them would be piracy and thus illegal... so naturally I couldn't condone such behavior!!)

Also, if you have other electronic design and build needs... I have made switch boxes for interfacing to ECMs, repaired blown ECMs for one of the speed shops on here and more.

Already have a D2CPRO9 V3; from my research, the best chip for the later model Wii's. But none of that wiring/soldering crap; already pre-soldered in a Wii Clip - simple plug and play. $85 shipped with both tri-wing screw drivers from a reputable supplier, tested and firmware updated prior to being shipped. Once you do it once, will take about 10 minutes to do it on another one.

I tried to back up one of my games, apparently you have to have a certain DVD drive to read your wii discs, some kind of LG. Just a heads up

Waste of time backing up your games; just got to the Pirate Bay or any other decent torrent site and download them. Then you just burn the .iso. Usually takes 1-2 days for the game to download, depending on seeders, but every single game has worked so far without issues.

Downloading Call of Duty now; hope I get a Wii Zapper for X-mas!

Where do you work? I used to do that, and I miss it. I only left that job because it didn't pay enough.

Any openings?

PM me if you don't want to post...

Whered you get yours from? and was it tough to put in? I used to mod ps1's all day long for friends, but those were only $40 or $50, Wiis are a little more and I'd hate to have a voided warranty and break it at the same itme

$85 shipped to your door. Even includes the tri-wing screw drivers (only thing you will need is a small Phillips, and a razor blade to pry off a couple of the stickers that hide a few screws).

The first time I did it, I simply had the Wii in front of my PC, and did it along with their how-to video. Very simple to do.

I can't image paying the guy above $50 for the chip and another $40 to have your Wii all hacked up, when you can buy one of these setups, simply plug it in, and if you ever wanted to remove it, simply unplug it. Any idiot can install one of these, and would take less time than driving over to drop your Wii off to have it done. Soldering may work...but why?

The days of soldering Wii's is LONG gone. The Wii clip + your choice of mod chip is the only way to go.

Edit: And before the "OMG, his is telling us how to copy games crowd" starts posting, the mod chip has a use a lot of people use it for exclusively - The Home Brew Channel. Allows you to modify your Mii's, play old-school NES/SNES games, llet's you use your Wii as a DVD player, etc.
