More info, You must have a Jacket, Gloves, Pants(jeans are accepted), and Boots(Must come over the ankle) to do the riding portion of the class.

Good helmet, leather gloves (thick), leather jacket, riding boots (not just heavy work boots, that's a good way to end up with a rod in your leg - ask me how I know).

 

That's my normal gear, even when it's hot as balls.

 

same here, but add pants too. jeans protect for about the first 3 mm of a slide.

My Jeans were just ground into my skin and the Nurses had to scrub the rash to get the denim out of the abrasions. That might have been the second most pain of the accident.
