We just brought back our second dog. She is a Siberian Husky just over 8 weeks old.

Yeah, it wasn't planned. Today we will be cleaning the place and taking both to the vet. We got her at petland on bethel rd. Overpriced, but she was just too cute and the wife really wanted her.

Any tips on introducing a new pup to a current dog? Lucy our boxer/ridgeback mix has been great soo far, but her health/happiness is/was the only concern bringing the new puppy into the house. We do not want lucy to change her overall demeanor because of the new dog, however we do realize that some change is in order.

As far as Husky's go, I would look them up through google. You can find rescue sites, as well as breeding info. AKC site: http://www.akc.org/breeds/siberian_husky/index.cfm Siberian Husky Club of America: http://www.shca.org/

I was suprised at how small Husky's actually are. Males top out at 60lbs, with low 30s being the runts. Lots of fur I guess. They are also not good as single dogs, a companion or multiple dogs is suggested. Also, they do not have gaurd dog tendancies.

She is a cute girl, but we forgot how much work a puppy really is!!!!!!

They're cool dogs if you have the space for them to run around

Dog park in our apartment complex, and a fenced in yard where we are moving in April. Should be good, our other dog Lucy requires lots of exercise as well.

If they get out, plan on spending hours chasing them around. They run and run. They like to chew things as well. Anything left out is fair game.

I miss mine, though, my ex took her :(

I had 2 huskies. They are great dogs. Good luck getting the dog back in the house when snow is on the ground.

I think I solved that. She tried to poop inside early this morning, so I scooped her up, opened the door with the turtle head poking out.........I am barefoot and snow owns me. I slip, dog goes flying, I break her fall about 1/2 down with my arm trying to catch her, miss, and she thuds to the ground from 3 feet in the air. :(

She lays there for a minute, and runs inside. I felt like such an :asshole:

I have heard great things about them, and the running thing was def one of "downsides/risks/behaviors"

My boxer has gotten out about 3 times. 2 were easy, she came back within 2 minutes, but one took my dad, brother and I in 2 cars about 3 hours to get her back. Thought I had lost her. Horrible feeling. :(

The oldest one I had would run until she went into a seizure, then we could catch her. They are fast dogs, with crazy endurance!!!

There's a trick.......

They love car rides. Just drive by and open the door. If we yell let's go for a ride she b-lines for the car. But yeah, if she gets out she runs.

Do they shed? LOL, all the time and then twice a year they "cotton ball".

I hope you like hair on EVERYTHING. Still worth having one, though. Beware the hair.

I gave up trying to wear black pants.

Hell, my black wool coat looks grey because of all the white hair on it. Hahaha!!
