2 Sweet
I guess my laptop got some viruses, some "Antivirus Live" program keeps popping up with a Windows Secutiry Alert, runs a scan, tells me I have 34 threats, then tries to load IE in hopes that I will pay for the full version of the software. I don't know what the hell this program is, but shit keeps popping up constantly, making it nearly impossible to use. "Application cannot be executed, file is infected" and yada yada yada, keeps popping up every 10 seconds. I guess the McAfee software on my laptop is expired, I tried to run that but it keeps giving me error messages and won't load. I managed to get to the Norton website and signed up for the free 30-day trial, only problem is that when I try to run the setup/download thing, it says "communications error" so I'm still fucked. Basically, my laptop got viruses, I need to figure out how the hell to fix it. WTF do I do? Any help would be appreciated. Oh I'm running Windows Vista btw. 2 Sweet
Well I managed to get McAfee's free trial, and that wouldn't work either, it kept telling me that it couldn't open because shit was infected. Oh and IE kept popping up and finally managed to get to "porno.com" haha wow. What kind of faggots create these viruses anyway?
dakotart
Try to load malwarebytes from http://malwarebytes.org You may need to boot to safemode and try and run the scan from there.

Hmm that might be an option, thanks. Although I'm leaning towards just having the laptop wiped clean (there isn't anything on it anyway) and start over with Windows 7. I fucking hate Vista. Browning
starting over would be the best route and when you've got it back up install Avira. It's the best antivirus out there right now
Benner
lol. I had to fix my parent's desktop last night that had gotten the anti-virus live B.S. on it. Ended up having to wipe it clean and start over from scratch. It's a pretty nasty virus and will re-replicate itself if you don't wipe out every single trace of it on the pc. My advice is to just wipe it clean and start over fresh.

Benner
google my friend google. http://www.google.com/#hl=en&source=hp&q=antivirus+live+removal&aq=0&aqi=g10&oq=Antivirus+Live&fp=aa0e561cd8821793 Yeah good luck with that. Antivirus live will actually block you out of programs and files that it percieves as a threat to itself
Drewhop
Yeah good luck with that. Antivirus live will actually block you out of programs and files that it percieves as a threat to itself I have manually removed Antivirus live manually before but that was about 6 months ago so maybe it has changed. Benner
Possibly. I tried unsuccessfully 4 or 5 times and within a day or so it'd be back up. It wouldnt let me access some of the files that i needed to delete and every option like system restore and my anti-virus was denied
nurkvinny
OP - Do a system restore from Safe Mode.
TTQ B4U
Install these three things: Malwarebytes SuperAntiSpyware AVG Free I have a reg code and what not for Malwarebytes too so that you can have it run in the system tray from this point on. It catches things that none of my virus software including AVG haven't. Just PM Me and I'll share. Once installed, update all of them to get the most recent definition files. Run all three at the same time in full-scan mode. Come back in a few hours and you'll be amazed at what they find. Should clear you up. I just defeated a major virus and malware attack at my wife's office thanks to an employee and the three above cleared them up in no time. Ditch any of the Norton and McAfee bullshit. I tried all of them and the above beat them hands down.
AWW$HEEET
Do a malwarebytes scan, but do a quick scan. I would waste any time doing the full scan. Takes too long and I dont believe you will get any better results, unless your PC is really corrupted badly. Be careful as to what you have it fix at the end. You could end up editing your registry to the point that the PC is even worse than when you started off.
Vlad
LOL, just had this exact same problem. Scanned my laptop with Malwarebytes last night and its all good now. So happy I didnt have to reformat.
Nitrousbird
Try to load malwarebytes from http://malwarebytes.org You may need to boot to safemode and try and run the scan from there. Use this, it will work perfectly. You may need to turn off the proxy server option in IE to be able to surf afterwords, as this virius sometimes enables it. Very easy virus to get, but easy to remove if you have the program. You have to run it in safe mode (won't work in standard boot up, or if you boot from a different OS and try to scan the hard drive of the infected OS).
