Aaron
Why are you guys acting surprised???? Have you not seen pdqgp and V8KILRs posts in the past? I guess I never read any of the political threads with that much detail to know this. Sorry...Aaron will be better. I've never seen pd's extreme hate of gays before. x2

wnaplay1647545503
The way I see it is, were here for a very short time. If finding someone and being happy meant that was with a man, then so be it. Better that than being alone and miserable. I dont want to see 2 guys making out the same as I dont want to see a man and a woman making out on tv. As long as whomever I am around practices the same level of pda as my wife and I, I am cool. I give my wife a quick kiss in public and wouldnt have a problem with it if a gay couple around me did it. I cant stand flaming people the same as I dont like heterosexual people being overly heterosexual. If the ad was going for a "wow" factor, then I say turn it down. I also think it would possibly be a bad business move to air it due to the over abundance of the viewing audience not being interested. If it were a regular commercial advertising a gay match site, I am cool with it but something tells me its all about the "wow" factor.
Trouble Maker
Well, I will enjoy my space on Tolerant Island while you worry about others on Oppressive Island. Loving it, thank you for not being a stereotypical conservative (i.e V8Killer, Vlad and PDQ). Why can't people open up their eyes and just let everyone live the way they want to live? Can't they realize that it could be them in the minority...
V8 Beast
I've never seen pd's extreme hate of gays before. He's the traditional family values type... but at the same time reminds me of Bobby Bucher's mom with the extent of passion towards some of his views. Bobby Bucher: "Mama, when did Ben Franklin invent electricity?" Mama: "That's nonsense! I invented electricity. Ben Franklin is the devil!" To their defense I am honestly disgusted as well in a way. I tolerate it is because if I talk bad about gay acts I would be a hypocrite considering all the girl on girl porn I watch.

A lot of my fiscal views are pretty conservative, but whenever I take those tests my socials views fall right in the middle because I honestly don't give a shit what others do with their lives as long as it doesn't materially affect me. TTQ B4U
I've never seen pd's extreme hate of gays before. It's not "extreme hate" of gays. I can't say I really "hate" anyone. That's a bit extreme and I don't think I've come across that way. Let's just say I'm not as tolerant as you and others who feel a gay lifestyle needs to be shoved down the throats of the public at large in the worlds most widely seen venue. Gays are out there, but I don't feel they need to come forward as Rick states and try and cry for acceptance by everyone. IMO, that's a bit insecure of them. They just need to accept who they are and live life as they wish. I'm all for them getting joint benefits at work, and I really don't care if states recognize marriages of gays. However, I'm far less tolerant of them coming into my home on a commercial trying to promote the lifestyle. I can turn off a gay centered TV show and not have their site on my computer, but commercials....that's going too far. I have a cousin who is gay and he and several acquaintances who are too. I don't hate them. I just don't condone their lifestyle nor will I lie to them and pretend I do. When they "committed" their relationship I sent them a very nice gift because I like my cousin. He's a good person. But no, I wasn't about to attend the ceremony or party. They know my stance and are fine with it. We're family and we stay together but I'm not going to pretend I support their lifestyle. In their case, we tolerate each other I suppose. Brian is right, I'm a bit over the top in terms of vocalizing my opinion, but many here are and that's cool. Again, it's the interweb and we are in America. In terms of protecting my kids, yes, I will do that and I don't need the extremest of this world polluting their mind with crap. I have and will continue to raise my kids my way and without the influence of others on particular matters. Sexuality being one of them. My son is a great kid, never picks on anyone and never looks at anyone by race, color, etc. In fact I find that a great thing about him. Sometimes he makes us older folks feel guilty with his good vision. In terms of gay vs straight though, he will form his own view, but I'm not about to inform him that I accept it. In time he will know that I tolerate it but will not accept it. His adult choice will be his and I won't fight it.

Aaron
Why would you want someone to be unhappy? Why do you care if being gay makes someone ELSE happy? Why do you care if there are commercials letting people know it is ok to be gay? Why are you so threatened by their way of life? If one of your children is gay, will you love them? Will you dis-own(sp?) them? Tolerate them? Hate them? Does watching will and grace or seeing a gay dating site commercial persuade kids to become gay? Who cares. You live your life, let them live theirs.

My mother is pro-choice. She *CHOSE* to have me. And that's all I'm going to contribute to this particular subject. As for the main topic. CBS is a private company, they don't HAVE to air every ad. At the same time plenty are. Your sexual preference does not make you happy. True happyness comes from within. Is it ok to be gay? 100% opinion. Going by how people are made homosexuals can not reproduce without medical assistance or heterosexual acts. If everyone was gay we would no longer exist. Technically its ok for some people to be gay, but if we were all gay we would be endangered. You assume people are threatened because they dont like it. I dont like nascar but since its not a hot topic you wont hear people telling others I'm threatened by cars. I dont live my life on tv pushing heterosexual views on people. I tolerate it, but I dont have to like it. I'm against public displays of affection period. I dont want to see it from two guys, two girls, or a man and a woman... MY OPINION. I cant tell people whats right and wrong, but I can have my own idea of what is right and wrong and I can teach that to my children when they are old enough to understand. My talk with my son when he was 8 was simply, "its when a guy likes a guy or a girl likes a girl very much and they kiss and stuff"... his natural response was ewwwww btw (Even the girl on girl lol). Now that hes older family values and views will come up in conversations as they should. In the end he will make up his own mind as he should. Vlad
Here is the true reason why I dislike gays and would never support it. Doesnt matter if its a stranger, my relative or my kid. Well besides that it disgusts me. 'Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable.' (Leviticus 18:22) 'If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.' (Leviticus 20:13) and so on... TTQ B4U
Call it what you want, you don't like them being gay. I don't care about "them" If a man wants to nail another man, that's up to them. Nothing on earth will convince me it's anything less than nasty. However, I consider it their business and I expect them to keep it that way. Their business. I don't need it piped into my home via a commercial. I understand exactly what you mean. I care about the commercial because it's not allowing me to turn it off. It's not mainstream, it's a nasty lifestyle and it's not something I feel needs "promoted" into the homes of millions who far out number those that are gay. put it on a gay channel and that's cool. I won't advertise Victoria's Secret on the Gay channel just the same.I'm not threatened by their way of life. I'm disgusted by it and don't want it on my Plasma without my choosing. As I stated above, I have a family member who is gay. I tolerate them. I love them as family but I don't interact with them the same no.Will and Grace....fine show, but not one I watched. Never found anything in it worth watching. Of course I don't feel it pursueds anyone to go gay.Life wise, I do live mine as I see fit and they can live theirs. I'm among the vast majority of the population that is straight and feel if they want to have a gay TV channel, then more power to them. Go set it up and put this ad up there all they want. I won't subscribe and they can in turn turn off anything they don't like too. Not everything in life has to mix and be universally accepted. After 11 years its nice to have a son thats old enough to understand talks about abortion, homosexulity, etc. The superbowl and guys kissing is not as bad as go daddy in my book.
