98GrdPoundr
this is in my mustang, tranny is a tko 500 ....... i was on the freeway in 5th gear, went to downshift to 4th and it didn't go in ... so i went to put it back into fifth and then realized it was still in 5th ..... the shifter will move side to side like its in neutral but its locked in 5th gear. i pulled the shifter today just to see if perhaps it had broke ... but no luck just curious what you guys think might have broke
SinisterSS
possible shift fork, had a similiar issue with my t-56 and it ended up being a shift fork, countershaft gear, and syncro, only because I continued to force it over and over
Guest Removed
but this up on buckeye...matt (lx2nv) can more then likely tell you whats up..plus he can fix and build it stronger on a deal.. but sounds like the forks are broke

98GrdPoundr
ok ... so i got the trans out ... opened up the top and looked around nothing is broke.. so i shove the shift rail back to the neutral spot, put the shifter on and run through all the gears and everything is working fine now... sound possible that it just got hung up ?
