Hoblick
ok well still on my quest for riding boots/shoesi want something protective, not race oriented though. i want something comfortable on and off the bike. i wont be doing any track days or anything.i just want a all around nice street boot, with good protection, and good comfort.ive got it narrowed down to these..they only ones i havent tried on are the new icon tarmac ventilated, cause iron pony doesnt have them in yet. and TCX cause no one around here carries them. and the sidis, cause i just never tried them on yetwhich would you choose and why? and if you have another option (besides a full race boot) please enlighten me.i have them listed in whats comfortable and uncomfortable just trying them on and walking around in them for a minute Comfortable:Alpinestar SMX-1http://www.alpinestars.com/SMX_Shoe/pd/c/9/np/-1/p/251307.htmlIcon Tarmac Ventilatedhttp://www.rideicon.com/product_details.jsp?category=1978&id=7885Icon Accelrant http://www.rideicon.com/product_details.jsp?category=1978&id=7886TCX jupiter 2 xcrhttp://www.motosport.com/street/product/TCX-JUPITER-2-XCR-BOOTS/?catalogId=110624&catID=445&pcatID=418&catName=Footwear&pcatName=Gear&tnc=1&srchHistoryURL=b17kdhel||parentCategoryID~3^superParentCategoryID~category_root^parentCategoryName~Sport^categoryID~418^categoryName~Gear^subCategoryName~Footwear^subCategoryID~445Uncomfortable:Joe Rocket Super street bootshttp://www.motosport.com/street/product/JOE-ROCKET-SUPER-STREET-BOOTS/?catalogId=110620&catID=445&pcatID=418&catName=Footwear&pcatName=Gear&tnc=1&srchHistoryURL=d40353hx||parentCategoryID~3^superParentCategoryID~category_root^parentCategoryName~Sport^categoryID~418^categoryName~Gear^subCategoryName~Footwear^subCategoryID~445Alpinestar SMX-2http://www.alpinestars.com/SMX_2/pd/c/9/np/-1/p/222408.htmlSidi Streetburnerhttp://www.motosport.com/street/product/SIDI-STREETBURNER-BOOTS/?catalogId=109500&page=3&refine=1&srchHistoryURL=rzztwc9u||parentCategoryID~3^superParentCategoryID~category_root^parentCategoryName~Sport^categoryID~418^categoryName~Gear^subCategoryName~Footwear^subCategoryID~

fueljunkie1
If you're not worried about "fashion" the best boots IMHO are Wolverine. Cool, light, weatherproof and durable.

exSRAaron
have you gone to Ironpony and tried them all on yet? Shit if you wear a size 43, you can stop by my house n try on my sidis and see what u think
jermattak
i have the sidi vertigos, the streetburners are bascially a shorter version of them, they are the most comfortable things i have ever worn, i would wear them as shoes everyday if they moved like regular shoes. I have icon boots, i hate icon, i bought them on sale a few years ago, i wore them for one season, worked in them for a few months, and i have holes in them, thin leather, no hard parts, but still heavy, i never trusted them, icon=overpriced parking lot stunting shitjust look at all the hardware on the sidis! sidis have saved my legs twice already

r1crusher
All of the boots you have showed will offer some protection, but not the best. Unfortunately, the best foot protection is full height protection. I will sacrifice a little comfort for the best protection. DO NOT SKIMP ON THE GEAR! It's the only thing you can rely upon if something were to happen. You really need to quit thinking of it like “race” and “street” boots. They are all just boots with varying levels of protection…the taller the boot the more protection it should provide. Boots should offer good toe, ankle, and shin protection. I personally prefer Sidi boots. And if you want a good example send a PM to Inyazz. He had on a set of boots very similar to the style you’re looking at and he wound up with a not so pleasant 6-8” scar on his shin which more than likely could have been avoided.Take it for what it’s worth, but if those are the boots you are dead set on as your selection I’d say the best pair there are any of the ‘uncomfortable’ ones. And of those the Joe Rockets would be your best bet as they offer at least some shin protection. All of the ‘comfortable’ ones are nothing more than high top sneakers and will offer you little in the way of real ankle protection. Anything which will keep your foot from getting pulled down and back thusly breaking your foot at the ankle or tearing your tendons is what you want. These will typically have some sort of hard plastic armor which will also help in the event of a ‘run over’. Sidi’s are one of the best IMO with their designs.Good luck with your search! SAMBUSA
Riiiiiight, I dont stunt. I've had my Icon's for 3 seasons now. Never had a problem with them. Heavy? Yeah, I guess they are if you compare them to a pair of running shoes.

Hoblick
probably not, i mean if i decide to do a track day then ill probably invest in full race boots, and probably a nice 1 piece. but im almost 99% sure im not going to ever do a track day. i enjoy riding the street, taking trips and such too much. and im just not really into track riding.i think i may have to go to the pony tomorrow and try those joe rockets on again, i think im almost positive about getting those. only took 3 months lol.. i dunno though things could change from now till tomorrow
