jon_SV650
if you like Tool and A Perfect Circle you should check out Puscifer, it is a group with Maynard Keenan, its not bad, different, but not bad.

Harb67
It's really hard to just pick certain albums, but I'll give it a shot. This is by no means all-inclusive:Pink Floyd - The WallPink Floyd - Dark Side of the MoonPink Floyd - Wish You Were HerePink Floyd - P.U.L.S.E.Dream Theater - Images and WordsDream Theater - Falling into InfinityDream Theater - Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From A MemoryMarillion - MarblesMarillion - Clutching at StrawsMarillion - Season's EndMarillion - Happiness is the RoadNine Inch Nails - Year ZeroNine Inch Nails - The SlipNine Inch Nails - The FragilePain of Salvation - BePain of Salvation - ScarsickJoe Satriani - Strange Beautiful MusicJoe Satriani - Super ColossalSpock's Beard - SnowSpock's Beard - Day for NightSieges Even - The Art of Navigating by the StarsTransatlantic - Live in EuropeThe Flower Kings - Instant DeliveryThe Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club BandDragonforce - Valley of the DamnedThere is a ton more, but that is my "core" music. That's not to say it's what I listen to 24/7; I actually haven't listened to some of those albums in a while but they're all albums I love and are the standards to which I hold other music. If I had to boil down all 19000 mp3's I've got to a handful of albums, these are what I'd choose.
