It's really hard to just pick certain albums, but I'll give it a shot. This is by no means all-inclusive:

Pink Floyd - The Wall

Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon

Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here

Pink Floyd - P.U.L.S.E.

Dream Theater - Images and Words

Dream Theater - Falling into Infinity

Dream Theater - Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From A Memory

Marillion - Marbles

Marillion - Clutching at Straws

Marillion - Season's End

Marillion - Happiness is the Road

Nine Inch Nails - Year Zero

Nine Inch Nails - The Slip

Nine Inch Nails - The Fragile

Pain of Salvation - Be

Pain of Salvation - Scarsick

Joe Satriani - Strange Beautiful Music

Joe Satriani - Super Colossal

Spock's Beard - Snow

Spock's Beard - Day for Night

Sieges Even - The Art of Navigating by the Stars

Transatlantic - Live in Europe

The Flower Kings - Instant Delivery

The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

Dragonforce - Valley of the Damned

There is a ton more, but that is my "core" music. That's not to say it's what I listen to 24/7; I actually haven't listened to some of those albums in a while but they're all albums I love and are the standards to which I hold other music. If I had to boil down all 19000 mp3's I've got to a handful of albums, these are what I'd choose.
