Day 2 was a bust. Called a few times in the morning and got no response whatsoever. I was worn out on rabbits from the previous day, so I called it a day.

Day 3 was better:

First yote I've ever called in on my own.

Sunk a 40gr. V-Max in his ass.

Called in a 2nd coyote on my 2nd stand that morning (). Had him in my sights, barked at him to stop him, but it didn't come out as a realistic bark and he knew it. He bolted away from me. Unfortunately I had the magnification cranked all the way up on my Redfield, and had a hard time trying to find him while he was running. I lit off a round in his direction, but missed, which didn't surprise me. Went to send another round in his direction, but all I got was a 'click'. Again, another fuck-up on my part. Just before my 2nd stand, I dropped the mag to see what rounds I had loaded up. Put it back in, but didn't get it fully seated, and it failed to strip the next round. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu. Tap. Rack. Bang. But he was too far into the brush to get off an effective shot.

3 more stands that morning, but no luck. It was starting to heat up and they disappear when it gets hot here.

Went home.

Went back out a few hours later (when it was like 100* out), and tried 2 more stands. Again, no luck. So, I drove around for about 15 minutes looking for rabbits. They disappear as well when it heats up. However, I did find an unsuspecting one about 30ft. away from the truck with his back to me. Quietly opened the door and lit him up. These V-Maxs impress me just as much as BVGs, I'd say.

Looks like you shot the coyote in the ass :D

I take what I can get. :D

How's the Five Seven shoot? Got anything with that yet? Think I'll be picking one up in September.

Shoots good, but it feels like a complete piece of shit. The trigger pull sucks as well. Feels like some of the cap guns I had as a kid. I'm not impressed in the least.

I've heard that too. I'm on the fence about it for that reason, but the PDW type rifle cartridge intrigues me, and the accuracy is spot on I hear. Guess I'll have to just go shoot one to decide if the $1K price tag is worth it. BTW, I'm extremely jealous of you right now. If I end up in Texas next year, I'll have to get out west more.

Scotty,

Hit me up next time you are in town, we'll hit the range and see what you think.

Better yet, find some land and I'll bring the some of my EA ammo. :D

Deal, I'll have a few AR's to break in along with some handguns aswell. Felt I should drop a few rounds with it before purchasing. Seems like it would be an excellent side arm for varmit hunting too.

Shot with the 5.7 using factory FN ammo. I'll be loading up some of my own 5.7 rounds and shipping out to my dad to try out. I'd like to see what some BVGs would do out of one.

Do use caution when loading for the 5.7 round. I'm sure you've done your homework and such, but a friendly heads up never hurt. ;)
