Farkas
Well, not really bed post.. more like frame rail. http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c8/eightsixgts/IMG_0051.jpg Yes, hockey pucks to raise the motor. http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c8/eightsixgts/IMG_0052.jpg Oilpan and subframe clearance, both lowest part of the underside. http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c8/eightsixgts/IMG_0048.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c8/eightsixgts/IMG_0047.jpg Just for shits http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c8/eightsixgts/IMG_0058.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c8/eightsixgts/IMG_0057.jpg
Farkas
Oh, and just to give you an idea of how much clearance the subframe and pan in the pictures actually have with the car on the ground. http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c8/eightsixgts/DSC_0322.jpg

Farkas
Will you be driving this car in the winter? No way, lol! I'm not afraid to drive a low car in the winter.. ask the guys that I went out with in the Spyder to play in the snow. I'm just afraid this car will rust quicker than anything else I have owned. I found a Toyota Echo for $800 that i'll be driving in the winter.

AJ
i would make fun of you and the hockey pucks but i have done that before. being that low makes the car totaly useful for just about nothing though.
Farkas
I've seen c-notches in trucks, but this is ridiculas. Yeah, sooner or later I'm going to have the frame rail notched for the tie-rods and the axle, but that's a matter of when I feel like dealing with it. I can see where the tie-rods have already kissed the frame rail, too lol. i would make fun of you and the hockey pucks but i have done that before. being that low makes the car totaly useful for just about nothing though. I know the hockey puck trick has been used as body lifts on trucks for a while now. VW guys just put the pucks to a different use, but with the same general idea . Oh, and it's useful enough to get me around town Short story though- I was driving on 70 heading west just after the Grandview exit where there's a pretty mean bridge embuttment, long story short my subframe ate pavement which sent pebbles and sparks all over the highway. Scared the shit out of me as soon as it happened, but I got a laugh when I looked in the rear view at the people behind me shitting themselves. They eventually caught up to me and passed me on the right giving me the craziest look.

Habitual Sinner
And I thought my wagon sat low. I had no suspension in the rear. The frame literally sat on the rear end. Ended up getting rid of it before c notch and bags. I hated the ride though, I bottomed out on potholes all the time, couldn't pull into my driveway, and dragged into parking lots. Can you knock soda cans over using your bumper? lol

Habitual Sinner
I think the car looks good that low, but, IMO it would look a little better if it was raised about 1/2"-1" in the front to even out the ride height. I would love to see it with some of these. http://i722.photobucket.com/albums/ww221/500powered/Capture.jpg

If you look at wheel to fender gap, the car is perfectly even as far as ride height. The car was designed with a raked, wedge look. If you even it out as far as rocker to ground clearance, the rear wheels will tuck WAYYY more than the front, and then it just looks stupid.
