Powder Coating. Not what you think. Oakleys

I have a pair of Oakley Juliets with the X-metal frame. Wandering if I'd be able to get them powder coated or even black chrome. It'd be a pretty cool twist on an already awesome set of sunglasses.

Also if there's any photoshop Gurus on here would you mind shopping these to Black chrome and a powdered black?

If you do want to get those done get ahold of Erik or I and lets see if we can work something out. Would love to tackle a cool project like this.

Cool Any idea on a price? Feel free to take it to PM if you'd like.

with powder coating you will be changing the thicken of the metal which could cause issues with assembly.

That's my concern. Getting the rubber bits back on, and not puling a molten pile of Aluminum out of the oven. However, there are possibilities for paint or Anodizing.....

Not fore sure what the metal is but it can handle a hell of a lot of abuse. The guy that had it before me had them fly off his head doing about 70mph and the frame didn't get so much as a scratch on them and they're still perfectly straight.. The lenses took the abuse so I'm ordering a new set tomorrow morning as well as the rubber.

I have the same ones, but mine are a couple of years old. I think they are made of titanium, if I remember correctly. They are the only pair of sunglass I have had for more than a year, I have had them for at least 4.

I think you may be right. They're light as hell for being metal but strong as steel. They won't bend for anything.

X-Metal is a type of Titanium Alloy.

Melting point of "Titanium" more than 1,650 °C or 3,000 °F

Just for reference. I want pictures when your done sounds like a sweet alteration to a pair of sunglasses I've sold in the stores before.
