I bought a 42" Panasonic 720p Plasma from Besy Buy for $466.00 10 days ago.

Sure it's only 720p but its in our master bedroom. So far we love it. I hooked up my PS3 and it looks awesome. We even get all the local channels in HD plus some digital channels for free (no box)

Perfect for watching the news, misc shows and porn.

walmart is having a 55" Element brand 1080p 120hz for $799. I think that is the best deal out there. That is what im going to go with i think.

Saw that, but reviews aren't all that great. The general consensus is the built is speakers are awful, which isn't great for me, since I am doing a bedroom TV and don't want to do a surround setup for it (I have one I could use, but doesn't serve my purpose). I haven't seen it in person, but reviews are hit and miss on picture quality and reliability, and the remote is said to be junk too. The price looks decent on that, but it is still $800 for a TV that makes Dynex and Insignia look name brand.

I don't think so...I bought my 50" Samsung for $800 back on labor day weekend 2008.

720p I'm sure.

Bedrooms are for fucking, not for watching TV. Don't tell me your sex life has ended since you got married.....

We got a free westinghouse 36" with out apartment and its a piece of shit.

There is a reason these TVs are cheap people. Many of the low low cost ones suck dick.

if its not a big brand tv its not worth wasting money on. Sammy's are very nice. I'm still reasonably happy with my Panny. Cheap crap is cheap because it doesn't have options and will just last long enough for you to replace it again next black friday.

Black Friday Deals < Open Box Deals

Just went to Best Buy, have been doing some research and thinking about my next TV (Already have a Samsung 50" Plasma 1080p). Since the TV was way to big for my room at my house I knew this time I wanted something smaller. I have been shooting back and fourth on a 40-46". LCD or Plasma (LED is to expensive, or so I thought). So I am looking through the TV's at BB as I read they had a deal currently on a Samsung 42" Plasma 720p for $499. I figure that was a good deal. Well I walked down to the open box area. They had a few good deals, and BAM I see it. Sony Bravia 40" LED 1080p. Originally $1,199 and I walked out the door paying $689.00. Also picked up a Sony Blu Ray player as well. Got to talking with the dude at BB and he bought a HDMI cable under his discount for me ($12). Oh and I bought a 4 year Black Tie on the TV as well, just in case anything happens! Awesome experience today for sure.

Actually most LCDs have the same stuff inside. I just bought a 42" RCA for $100 that had sound but no picture. Took it apart and it was all LG and Phillips components. Found some bloated capacitors and ordered new control boards for $70. Works like a charm now.

Every single off brand LCD or plasma I've had apart had name brand screens and boards under the casing.

What brand and specs is that one ? I hate TV shopping. Iam also in the market for a 46 ,50. No rush though what I have still works but it is old and wont be around much longer.

http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-TC-P50S2-50-Inch-1080p-Plasma/dp/B0036VO7WM

This one for $750, no tax and free shipping. Has 3 HDMI ins which was one of my requirements(for XBOX, PC, and TV)Xbox looks great on it(was playing on a 24in HDTV before). Have not really watched TV on it as work required many extra hours this week. Kinda disappointed with the audio outs. It only has one digital out. I already had speakers but they don't have a digital in...so that means a new receiver...

Walmart is going to have a 32" Emerson LCD for 199

Target has the 40" Westinghouse already mentioned... Word on the street is you might have luck being able to pick one up now and go back Friday or Saturday to recieve price match because of their price guarantee.

I might try that.

I wish Newegg/Fry's/Tiger Direct would hurry up and release their ads.

Best Buy's website has Dynex 32" for $279 and Toshiba 32" for $309....

I'd like to save at least $100 on black friday, for waiting in lines/its supposedly a huge sale day....but I didn't realize how cheap 32" flatpanels had gotten, I guess I thought they were still $500.

I called (didn't feel like driving my sleepy ass to) 2 different Targets. They said they didn't have any 40" Westinghouse TV's.
