how much protein are you guys taking pre/post workout?

Pre 30.

Post 56

5000 calorie bulk was taking

Pre 46 (carbs were 60)

Post 72 (carbs were 84 between shake and banana) 650 calorie inake

Much over 40 to 50 grams at a time will go to waste. Your body can only process so much at a time. And it doesn't really help with swell, it's more muscle growth and recovery. If you want that you need something with arganine nitrate in it. That's what helps keep the swell for a while after your workout.

Strong broscience in this post^

So if eat a steak that's 60-70 grams of protein 20-30 grams is wasted....lol ok.

Rate of digestion/absorption will.affect how much you can digest.not strictly a # limit.

If you're old school, you remember what I used to look like.

I figured i'd toss an update up here for people interested.

This is what I started out as:

http://a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/208662_10150157121551991_648896990_7087115_7911205_n.jpg

This is where I am now.

I'm down 184 now and have another 15-20 lbs to go. It's possible to get down without doing diets, its all life style changes people. I cut out all the horrid crap like pop and fast food I was doing and started kicking my activities into over drive (though I've never been an unmoving guy physically, I just became much more so).

I will update again once im actually at my goal weight which should be sometime in late october or early november. :D

Do you use a chair? If not try that because after you're done doing it fully normal you can get more of a workout using a chair until you can't move anymore.

Also a thing called hookers or something like that which are gloves could help too since its got an extra bar thing that loops around the bar to help give you a better grip for doing them.

lookin good meng. keep up the work.

anyone know how to get better at pullups/chinups? i can get a few then after that, i just can only get halfway up. i feel like i should be able to do a ton more than i can.

I couldn't do even one when I started. Tons of lat pull downs front and back build the primary muscles needed. Add some good free weight bicep work to improve your arm and grip strength and you'll be there.

Hanging around the upper 160s. Not really looking to lose any more, just put some muscle back on. It feels great because at this point I know I will never let myself go back. It's too much a part of my life now.

Anyone tried the Insanity workout? Know anywhere I could get burnt copies or download it?

Finished up the program last month. It is really hard but as long as you do your best you come out feeling great. I only lost about 4 pounds over the course of it, but definitely toned up a great deal. I got it for $40 off craigslist, and it was well worth it.

I did insanity but I went back to p90x, I like tony's pace in the p90x series better.

I enjoy P90X a lot more for muscle building, and Insanity for cardio. Insanity makes the P90X cardio exercises seem weak, so I've created a hybrid of the two replacing P90X cardio days with Insanity workouts. I'm loving it so far. And fantastic work, Veritas.

So this thread needs revived. Got my BF% read the other day and didn't get a chance to pick up the results till tonight. Here's the results. 82lbs of fat lost. 2lbs muscle gained (seems off a bit). Thought the body density was pretty funny because I noticed this summer that I no longer naturally float. I have to inhale a ton of air to stay afloat in the pool.

Bod Pod/water displacement testing? Who did you do it through? Tempted to see where I stand right now.

No I wish it was. This was with calipers. Names Mike Fitzpatrick. He's at MetroFitness in Delaware where I go.
