xlr8tn
Finally upgraded my camper. We've been going a few times a year as a family and the pop up just wasn't cutting it anymore. Needed more room. Got a new 2010 KZ 34' bunk house 5er. Has 4 bunks in the nose with the master bedroom in the rear, large dinette that breaks down into about a queen bed, 2 slides, jack knife sofa, fridge, tv, dvd player, indoor/outdoor speakers, power awning, microwave, oven, a/c, heat, shower, shitter, and tons of storage. Taken it out twice now and it's nice as hell. Like a home away from home. http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj37/0rion_album/01.jpg http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj37/0rion_album/02.jpg http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj37/0rion_album/05.jpg http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj37/0rion_album/06.jpg http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj37/0rion_album/08.jpg http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj37/0rion_album/03.jpg http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj37/0rion_album/09.jpg http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj37/0rion_album/camperhome.jpg
Snowflake
Looks good! My fifth wheel is a little older and a lot smaller but it's great to have thats for sure. I'll be looking to uprade in the next 2 years to something very similar to yours.
Buck531
That's bad ass. I was looking at campers the other day just to see what was out there. Do I dare ask how much that cost? I was looking at C-class campers and they were up there in price, but that came with the entire thing. truck, camper, etc. I was trying to find an old beat up POS that I could put in a camp ground an fix up myself but can't seem to find anything. xlr8tn
I gave ~$25k for this one. I had the pop up to trade and they gave me a very fair trade in price on that plus they saved me ~$500 on the hitch. Probably not the greatest deal out there but I was happy with the deal and I was also tired of camper shopping. The problem I have with C class type stuff is that when you go somewhere you either have to tow a DD or have some alternative means of transportation. You could always strap a couple motorcycles or bicycles to one but then there's the rain thing. With a 5er I unhook and have my DD available. I towed it 6 hours each way out to PA last week and it towed really well. Has good manners on the highway and I got between 13-14mpg on the average of both ways. There is not enough to be said for having a hot shower available when camping.
Buck531
My buddy has a 50' trailer/mobile homeish type stuff on a campground on the Muskingum river and he pays like $1000 a year for it to sit and has water and sewage, etc. I was thinking of getting something like yours.. but cheaper and have it towed down there to just stay. Then I'd build a deck/porch around it and such. Something stationary and won't move any time soon. ahh.. dreams. Edit.. and I don't have a big truck to haul it with
smokin5s
how hard is something like that to haul... I often wonder how hard it would be to haul something of that size. Or backup in order to put it exactly where you want it to go.
PGH STEELERS
Very nice, just let me know if you ever go to Autumn Lake, north of Sunbury Ohio.

xlr8tn
how hard is something like that to haul... I often wonder how hard it would be to haul something of that size. Or backup in order to put it exactly where you want it to go. most of it is practice. It does help to have a diesel for hills and stuff like that. This is a pretty light trailer really. It has an all aluminum frame which cuts down on weight quite a bit. It comes in right at 10k pounds. That duramax yanks this thing around pretty good. As far as backing up.....I'm still getting used to it but using my wife as a spotter I put it beside my house without much issue. The more times I do it the better I'm getting at it. I have a 2x12 on the low side to put the tires on. I backed it up last time and had the tires on the 2x12 the first try. Last weekend I hauled it out a couple hours East of Pittsburgh. There's a ton of construction out there and their roads in general just suck balls. It was pouring rain, at night, in construction, between concrete barriers, and getting passed by semi's. Can't say that was a whole bunch of fun. Matter of fact I was so nervous you couldn't have driven a pin up my ass with a jackhammer.
Tractor
Very nice. Backing takes practice and several nicely placed mirrors.
