Nitrousbird
Just picked her up tonight. 01 Malibu Sunsetter VLX with the LS1 Corvette option (Malibu does the Corvette boat, and also offers this as an expensive motor options for other models). Pretty much loaded - tower, balast tanks, wedge plate, CD changer with amp/sub/4 speakers, heater (sweet option). All pop up cleats and front light, tower mirror, docking lighting, interior lighting - this guy went very heavy on the option list. Here are some pics of her - she needs cleaned up badly. I also want to get some of the factory Corvette badging on her, as well as some of the Malibu badging, as it was all pulled, but we prefer it badged. Can't want to get her on the water this week and do some wakeboarding! http://img17.imageshack.us/img17/5950/dsc02913it.jpg http://img838.imageshack.us/img838/88/dsc02912u.jpg http://img593.imageshack.us/img593/5384/dsc02898a.jpg http://img834.imageshack.us/img834/231/dsc02897g.jpg http://img199.imageshack.us/img199/1553/dsc02902ua.jpg http://img718.imageshack.us/img718/111/dsc02908rt.jpg

Nitrousbird
I bet she flys. On our test run, she made more power than she needs. Supposed to do 51 MPH on the current prop (didn't have the pickups for the speedo down). I'll have to load her down with balast and the wake plate to see if I should repitch for more speed, though these boats are not meant for speed, they are meant to be ultimate tow boats. Fiji ST
Awesome boat. I love Malibu boats. Friend of mine has an old 1996 Sunsetter with a 350 in it. Beats my old Wellcraft handily.

Guest Hal
Badass boat, no doubt about it. Honestly, I wanted to see a different Malibu when I opened the thread. It goes without saying, my hopes were dashed. http://www.gminsidenews.com/naias/revitalization/chevroletria/images/chevrolet/detail_malibu.jpg
LS_Sonoma
For some reason I was thinking about a 78 model box style car when I opened this thread up... Im even happier now. Love the companys corvette model boat as well as this one. Hmm, maybe I need another LS in the garage....
GRN96WS6
Nice I'm looking at a Malibu/Mastercraft/Tige when I get back, I need to get out on the water again. How many hours are on it? How long was it sitting? Will it fit in the garage?
XChris1632X
Nice ass boat. What year is it? I know the sunsetters are great cross-over boats and can throw down some bad ass wake with the right wake. How much ballast do you have? Thats impressive if that thing hits 51! Have fun going fast in a v-drive though, any slight ripple and its going to beat you to death lol.

Nitrousbird
Nice I'm looking at a Malibu/Mastercraft/Tige when I get back, I need to get out on the water again. How many hours are on it? How long was it sitting? Will it fit in the garage? - Hour meter isn't displaying, owner said it just started doing that. Bought it off a pretty wealthly guy that lives on Griggs that has a covered boat dock with a lift, which is where he kept it (I think I recall seeing this boat on his dock when we had our condo on Griggs). I don't believe it has a lot of hours though. - Hasn't been sitting at all. Owner bought it when his son lived here, as his son wakeboards. His son moved to Florida 2 years ago and the owner said he had no use for a wakeboard boat, as he was just putting around in a 375HP boat. He ended up buying a deck boat. He had an employee of his rebuild the brake system on the boat and putting bearing buddies in the axles last fall. Don't limit yourself to those three brands. Supreme, Sanger, Air Nautique (okay, those are stupid expensive), Centurion, Moomba, Gekko, Calabria, Supra, etc. all make nice wakeboard boats and inboards. 2001 - first year for the diamond hull. Reviews all say it puts out a pretty decent wake with the wake plate, and a very rideable wake with some balast. I'm going to re-do the balast setup it currently has, as it only has the passenger tank for wake surfing it seems. I'll be fine this season with just the wake plate anyway. I drove it over another wakeboard boats wake on Griggs and it handled it pretty well - better than my Sea Ray does! Looks just like our boat, congrats! What do you have?
