Got a new bang bang thingy

Did you get that off the internet or are you speaking from experience? I ask because I read a lot of negative stuff online, but positive from people that actually own them. My time with it is limited but it grouped fine for me after I adjusted the red dot sight. There is a half inch peice of plastic over the dust cover for protection Im guessing, and the trigger is crisp and consistent. After reading what I did I may have been expecting it to be so crappy that everything went better than expected.

Experience...I had one briefly about a year ago that I picked up in a trade. I ran maybe 150 rounds total through it, tore it down several times, and never could get a good trigger. Mine didn't have anything on the dust cover, but I used a cut-up shoe pad and some double sided tape to add some cushioning.

Maybe you just found the rose in the poison ivy, or I found the poison ivy in the roses...but mine was definitely not a rose!

I hope so. The more I use it the more I like it.

I tried youtube but its taken like 20 min and nothings there so I put it on photobucket (quality is horrible)

Im a newb and a half so if you seeing me doing anything wrong please let me know. For the record I tossed the magazine on a pillow so no mags were harmed in the making of this video.

The tan one looks like the battlerifle from halo. Not trying to put down your gun that's what popped on my head when I saw it. Looks like fun though.

Looks like a "bubba" attempt at making a Norinco 86S

Yeah, its basically a more affordible version of that. I linked a pic of one of those earlier in the thread to show possible future plans (to get rid of the cheap plastic.)

The CAI configuration looks much better than the homemade job, IMO, and that plastic foregrip on the homemade rifle is a tough piece to find anyway.

If the CAI works well, leave it alone and enjoy! The plastic cheek piece on yours is really a nice feature. On the Norinco, you place your cheek right on the dust cover which really isn't comforting. I've seen dustcovers blown off of AKMs before and you certainly wouldn't want your face there!

Have you shot it one handed, yet? Because most of the weight is behind your grip, it's not too difficult to just pull the rifle into your shoulder and shoot with just your right hand.

Good point. I'll just use it and not get ahead of myself.

I'll have to give the one hand shot a try. The fore hand is really only there from habit, its not holding any weight... should be pretty easy.
