EagleCock
so what do you use to clean your leather jacket? I don't think I've ever cleaned my mx-1 jacket and it's still got some bugs on it from last season...don't say "take a ride in the rain" because that was my old method
playerpro153
Car wash.... They use soap. http://www.break.com/usercontent/2008/1/Motorcycle-Through-Car-Wash-433176.html Edited April 2, 2009 by playerpro153
SJC1000rr
Warm soapy water works fine for me. Mild soap if your that concerned about it, then take a towel and dry and remaining water off.

fusion
I have just used a damp wash cloth on my mx-1 and it doesn't seem any worse for wear.

Ziggy
i use this, works really well Good product, crappy trigger thingy on top... I've bought several bottles of that over the years, and every one of them ends up broken by the third use.

NinjaNick
I use a damp rag till it's spotless. Then I take PLEDGE and use that as a leather protectant. PLEDGE is cheap and it's for leather too. You want it to stay in good condition not just be clean.

e-flores
mink oil!!! keeps leathers soft and it makes it easier to clean up bugs and debris later.
magley64
Wouldn't that dry out the leather and f it up?hasn't caused issues thus far...isn't leather "dried" in processing?mink oil!!! keeps leathers soft and it makes it easier to clean up bugs and debris later.I can vouch for this as well, but I've always used mink oil AFTER cleaning, not as a detergent... 2wheels>4
saddle soap maybeOld school and effective, cleans and protects leather. Might still want to use a protective coating afterward though. mink oil!!! keeps leathers soft and it makes it easier to clean up bugs and debris later.Mink oil is good stuff, use it on my boots when I buy a new pair. Also you might try any one of a number of cleaners and protective coatings on the market, some of the newer synthetic products work as well as the old saddle soap and mink oil, but don't smell funny or get as greasy on your hands. I don't wear a leather coat, but I wear leather boots and grew up on a farm with lots of leather horse tack and I still like saddle soap and mink oil myself.
