What kind of car did I see?

So we were coming from 70e and turning onto 256 and this car then turned onto Taylor rd.

It looked like a corvette stingray with the rear cut off and the nose slightly stretched. It was silver, 2 small round tail lights. But I was too far away to see any badging let alone get a photo.

Based on that description does anyone have any idea what car that was?

So I showed the photo of the Shelby to my wife who says she saw the front (somehow I missed it but even tho she was driving she saw it) an she says for sure that's what it was!

AJ if you get photos would you mind posting them up?

I was behind the same exact car on Taylor and 256 turning into BW3. Definitely looked Corvettish with a chopped rear end. I'm thinking it was a kit car of some sort.

what car show was that?

EDIT: After searching other pics it may have been a Shelby Daytona coupe. The rear end didn't look as extreme as the Shelby though.

Yeah I'm not 100% that it was a Shelby Daytona but it sure looked similar! It seems like the rear was chopped off more than that like closer to the wheel wells. But I was too far to get a good look. But it had 2 tiny brake lights like the coupe.

Only other car with "tiny" taillights I can think of is an old ferrari 250 GTO, but that is not very "vette-ish" My guess would be a kit car...

The 68-72 vettes had small taillights too. and i know that there is a kit that takes the sting ray, and 'stretches' the front make room for a modern c5 drivetrain... (hunting for pic now)

Here is a stretched '73... the rear isnt "chopped" though...
