New wheels on the BRZ!

These are WedsSport TC105n in a 17x8+42 square fitment. They're wrapped in 235/40-17 Yokohama Advan AD08 tires.

My camera has a tough time around twilight (both the time of day and the movies, but don't we all?) so these pics aren't all that great. I'll try to get more tomorrow before the sun goes down again.

These are Titanium Silver. I like the color a lot more than I thought I would. It's not as bright as a regular silver rim, so they look good on a black car.

Some fitment pics,

The tires are HUGE.

Here are some comparison pics:

This is the new tire on an 8" wheel compared to the old one on the stock rims.

Looks bigger, but you would expect that. One's an OEM touring tire, the other is an aftermarket Extreme Performance tire made for AutoX.

But look at this comparison:

Again, new tire on 8" wheel on the right. The left tire is also on an 8" wheel, but it's a 245/40-18 Continental ExtremeContact DW (which Tire Rack doesn't seem to carry any more.) I knew something was up when I noticed my new tires had more pinch than the 245s I had for my Legacy.

And yes, I know the car needs more low. I'm just waiting for the parts I want to be released...

I see this thing all the time at the advanced auto on Sawmill, looks great! Will definitely have to look a little better next time i drive by to see the new wheels. Also i think i saw you driving it on 270 / getting on 315 the other day.

Thanks. They're my new summer wheels so it'll be on them when you see the car next. I'm very rarely on 315 though, might not have been me. I have seen a pic of another Black BRZ with Ohio plates..

Never been a fan of the "open hub" look...it's unfinished. Needs center caps.

Looking forward to seeing it in person!

Would be nice, but these wheels apparently are either caps or hubcentric rings, not both. I'd rather have the strength of being hubcentric, so I have a set of rings on the way.

were you at DSCC a couple weeks ago? dude was on his phone trying to get in the gates without a badge and the cops yelled at him to get off the phone and follow them to the visitor center

No, wasn't me. Not even sure what DSCC is...

* Hoping the wheels are significantly lighter than stock as they are ehh IMO.

This.

No center caps kills an otherwise good looking wheel.

The stock wheels are 20.1lbs and stock tires are 21lbs. The new rims are 14.85lbs and the new tires are 24lbs. So I'm saving 2lbs per corner.

Again, it's either hubcentric rings or caps, so rings it is.

I have the worst luck with center caps anyways. The caps for the Volks on my STI never fit either, I think the centers were milled wrong.

I'm with Aaron but I'll go a little softer and not say kills it, but rather just isn't my style. I never understood it but overall, looks decent. I still like the car.

Car must be bashit on those tires though.

I haven't had a chance to really put it through its paces, just some esses to scrub the release agent off. But even green they are night and day better. Not even a tiny squeal when I leaned on them.

I can't wait to see what they feel like once I get some miles on them.

I think they look the business and completely on-point for the car. No blingy caps needed for serious use. I too am somewhat suprised with the size of that 235 on an 8 as I was always under the impression that Yoko's runa little small. Either way solid choice on the combo.

I too can't wait to hear more driving impressions as you get them broken in as well as the effect of sticky rubber on the rest of the feel of the car (increased body roll, etc).
