gambling at home (columbus) in a bad part of town just screams trashy.

This.

I was all amped up for the Casino when it was going to be located downtown. But out on the Westside? Going to be a shithole in a years time.

I'll gamble when I go to St.Louis, or when Columbus puts a classy Casino downtown.

Parking is free, but valet is $5.

Apparently the new dealers don't know how to deal/pay just yet. So if you guys going down there bring your patient with you. A friend jus told me he was down there for half an hour and only to play four hands because of the new dealers don't know what to do yet.

Considering COTA runs there, the above is one of the safer bets you can have.

In for all "jobs" created and "economic boost" it will provide the people of Columbus.

Interesting how anyone can justify throwing away money gambling as being an economic boost. You would be better off throwing your money into the stock market and having no clue what you are doing.

Or throwing your money at strippers. Everyone loves strippers.

I had discussed buying it myself with a couple people, but nobody would go in on it with me. I don't think anyone thought I was serious..... and the state put too many restrictions on strip clubs now

How do the poker(im not talking about blackjack) tables work in an environment like this? Can you just sit down at any table with X amount of chips and begin playing, then walk away whenever? OR do you have to play tourney style and buy in and get up once the table is cleared out?

I know how to play cards but have never played in a casino before.

My mom collapsed on a casino floor laster year and died shortly after. she had blown through about 50,000 cash in 3 months. she moved to NV for the last 7 months of her life to enjoy her passion. I will never step foot in that place of sin. Those who steal from sick old people. ruin marriages, encourage people to lose it all and commit suicide. no thanks.

There are about 537 different ways you could respond to this post.

I'll go with option #1, say that I'm sorry to hear of your mother's passing and your loss, and leave it at that.

Plan to never ever go to that place, I voted against it more than once for a reason

The idea of voting on whether or not a business opens is thoroughly repugnant. Though good for you, sticking to your guns. I'm not being sarcastic.

I agree if that were the case.. but actually it was a vote on a Ohio constitutional amendment which I find changing for gambling as repugnant. Civil rights.. fine.. but gambling.. nah.

Prohibition was also a constitutional amendment, being legal doesn't make something right. Gambling and drinking are often tied together and while both in excess can have crippling consequences, both have market demand and should be allowed to exist if self-sustainable. I'm not much of a gambler save the occasional poker game, but I don't feel I should tell other folks how to spend, or make their money.
